A jolt of pain shot through Brittany's head, leaving her drained as she watched Leda walk away.
Kidney donor matching?
Why did Leda mention that? Did it have something to do with her grandma?
Brittany found herself gripping the windowsill for support. The emotional rollercoaster had left her feeling queasy. She let out a soft moan of discomfort, clutching her stomach as cold sweat broke out on her forehead.
She needed to stay cool...
“Brittany, you need to stay cool.”
She kept repeating this word, trying to regain her composure. After a moment, she finally managed to calm down and dialed Hannah's number.
"Hannah, I'm not feeling well, can we leave now?"
Hannah hung up immediately and rushed upstairs to escort Brittany out.
Shona could tell something was up with Brittany. A flicker of guilt passed through her eyes before she turned to her assistant, Aron Bennett, "Keep an eye on Brittany at all times, we can't afford any mishaps!"
...
Brittany was rushed to the hospital where the doctor gave her a stern warning after a thorough examination, "Mrs. Salter, you're in a delicate condition, you can't afford to let your emotions get the best of you."
Brittany cooled down and felt a pang of regret, "I got it, I'll be careful."
Leda's words had taken her by surprise and she had lost control of her emotions for a moment.
Thank God the baby was okay, otherwise she would never forgive herself.
When Isaac heard the news, he rushed over, "What happened, why did you get so emotional all of a sudden? Did someone mess with you? But Hannah's been with you the whole time, who could possibly get to you?
Brittany thought back to the events of the evening, her heart nervous. She opened her mouth to say something but the words wouldn't come out.
"You can't let this happen again."
Isaac got her a glass of water and gently raised it to her lips, "If I had known something was going to happen, I would never have let you go to that dinner."
Brittany obediently drank the water, "I want something sour."
"No, you're still in the hospital—"
