Isaac's anger suddenly vanished. Was she seriously craving food right now?
He walked to the edge of the bed, touched the food packaging - still warm.
He grabbed the bedside table, placed it on the bed, then unwrapped the food and placed it on the table.
Brittany took a bite, finding it not sour enough.
She reached into the bag, pulled out a bag of lemon, and a wave of lemon smell refreshed her.
She squinted her eyes, squeezed a few lemons, then took a bite, looking satisfied.
Isaac frowned at her, his nose full of lemon smell.
"Were you on the phone just now?"
Brittany heard him mentioning he needed to find someone. Who did he need to find?
"Mm, work stuff."
Isaac put down his towel, his previously damp hair now half-dry, hanging naturally, no longer sharp as usual, but a bit casual.
Brittany took a sip of soup, it was sour and spicy, a thin layer of sweat appearing on her small nose, making her look even more delicate.
"Tastes the same as always."
Brittany finished all the food, still seemed unsatisfied, opened the bedside cabinet, found a fresh lemon, handed it to Isaac, "Cut it. I want to eat it."
Isaac washed the lemon, cut it into slices, even meticulously removed the seeds, then handed it to Brittany.
Brittany took a slice of lemon and sucked it hard, the sour taste strong, but it curbed her cravings.
After several slices, Isaac couldn't stand it any longer.
"You can't eat anymore."
He took away the lemon, washed Brittany's hands, climbed into bed, gently wrapped his big hand around her waist, "Okay, sleep time."
Brittany still wanted to eat, but she knew she couldn't eat any more today.
She bit Isaac's chin resentfully, "When the baby comes out, I'm gonna tell him!"
Isaac held the back of her head, kissed her lips, "Before the baby comes out, you gotta listen to me."
