Was she not good enough for him?
"But, he's my..."
Before she could finish, Mrs. Dillion cut her off, "Those people are rich and powerful. You better not overthink."
Rich and powerful?
Brittany remembered Isaac mentioning that his family had gone through a huge upheaval.
She wanted to ask more.
William came out of the bathroom, his handsome face slightly pale, clearly not feeling well.
Mrs. Dillion pushed him and coldly said, "Let's go."
Brittany said goodbye to William, went downstairs, and left.
...
Brittany returned to her own company.
Her secretary brought a cup of water, "Ms. Dustin, we just received an invitation from the Real Estate Association for a mixer tomorrow night."
The secretary carefully observed Brittany's expression, then added after a moment, "I heard Mr. Field will also be there."
Jason Field?
Brittany was reviewing some documents, "I got it. I’ll be there on time for the mixer tomorrow night."
After her secretary left, Brittany called a meeting with her executives and set their focus for the next six months.
She had her eye on a plot of land in the west part of the city. She had some inside information.
That plot of land would be a key development area early next year, but right now, no one was interested in it.
If she could secure this land, her company would have no worries for a few years.
But to get this land, she needed some help, like from the president of the Real Estate Association—Kemp Wilson.
Brittany looked up all available information on Kemp, selected a few smart individuals, and planned to take them to the industry mixer.
Jason also received an invitation to the mixer.
"You're saying Brittany will also be there?"
