Isaac tried his best to suppress the news of Brittany being hospitalized.
However, word still got out.
The next morning, Randell rushed to the hospital. Before he could enter, he saw a figure coming out of the room.
It was Joie, who he'd seen at Grandeur Capital before.
Randell paused, waited for her to leave, then pushed the door open.
Brittany had rested all night, much better. Seeing Randell, she managed to put on a weak smile and said, "You're here."
Seeing her tired, Randell felt a twinge of displeasure, "Jason's been taken by the police. I've hired the best lawyer; he won't get off easy."
It was his negligence that gave Jason the chance to hurt Brittany.
"I know."
Randell thought of Joie, his brow twitching, "Is the person who just left your friend?"
"She's a newly adopted granddaughter of Granny."
Adopted by Grace?
Something felt off to Randell. He squinted.
After a while, he went over to pour Brittany a glass of water, "Where's Isaac?"
“Birattny is at the hospital, and Isaac isn't by her side?” he thought.
"Zakky..." Brittany knew Isaac was avoiding her, "Maybe he's busy with work."
This was their business and Brittany didn't want Randell to worry.
Even then, she was still covering for Isaac.
Randell stayed with Brittany for a few hours. Before leaving, he patted her head and said, "Rest well."
"I know. I’ll try."
As he left the hospital, his assistant was waiting downstairs.
"Check on Joie right now."
Randell didn't climb to his position by being dumb, especially when he sensed something odd.
"Yes, " his assistant obliged.
