"How come you're here? Why are you messing with my stuff?"
Brittany quickly shut the door, grabbing Joie’s hand firmly. The distaste in her eyes seriously pissed Joie off.
If it weren’t for Isaac’s favoritism, what right did she have to be here?
Joie herself was the one who had saved Grace’s life. The whole Salter family owed her big time, didn't they?
She just touched a brooch, what was the big deal?
Joie, looking upset, said, “Bri, I just wanted to look around. I thought this brooch was pretty, so I wanted to try it on. I didn’t mean anything by it.”
Brittany was having none of it, "Joie, no matter what your reasons are for being in my room, you keep your hands off my stuff!"
She ripped off the brooch. Once she smelled Joie on it, she felt disgusted and threw it onto the table, making a loud clink.
"Get out!"
The tears in Joie's eyes made her appear utterly wronged.
At that moment, Grace heard the noise and came running, "Joie, Bri, what's the fight about?"
Tears started flowing down Joie's face.
"It's my fault. I shouldn't have touched Bri's stuff."
Joie's audacity astounded Grace. Not only did she invade their bedroom, but she also messed with Brittany's belongings.
"Joie, how could you do something like this?" Grace frowned. She was always big on boundaries. No wonder Brittany was pissed.
"I'm sorry... I just heard a noise in the room and wanted to check. I saw Bri's brooch, thought it was nice, and wanted to try it..." Joie sobbed, "Your birthday is coming up. I just wanted to see the style of the brooch. I grew up in an orphanage and never saw anything this nice. I was wrong... Please, speak up for me with Bri."
Grace's reproach got stuck in her throat.
Joie touched Brittany's stuff for her. How could she blame her?
Brittany had to hand it to Joie for her acting skills.
Joie obviously coveted her stuff, but turned it into a story about an orphan wanting to see the world!
