Brittany felt the irony. Her child was already gone; how could he possibly give him back to her?
She withdrew her hand and crawled back into bed, pulling the blanket over herself. She looked at Isaac, "You win. I give up. Please, just stop mentioning Kyle."
The sound of her child's name coming from his mouth made her skin crawl!
She had no energy to engage him, so she simply closed her eyes.
Isaac seemed to have something else to say but was interrupted by a sudden ring from his phone.
Seeing the caller ID, Isaac quickly left the room.
Brittany clutched the soft blanket, but she just couldn't sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, her mind was filled with images of Kyle.
The moonlight was bright and silver. The room was warm with the heating on.
But she felt a chill and couldn't fall asleep.
...
At a large medical research institute.
Nathan was waiting at the entrance. A black car emerged from the darkness and pulled up in front of him. The car door opened.
"What happened?"
Isaac got out of the car; his eyes were full of worry. He exuded a chill, as if he had rushed straight from a snowstorm.
"Kyle's condition is critical. The doctors said that he might not make it."
Nathan was also surprised. After Brittany's child was taken out of her, he was actually still alive, though in a critical condition.
Isaac didn't dare to let anyone know, so he announced that the child had died. In reality, he had placed the child in a research institute under his name, with dedicated staff to take care of him.
Premature birth and the toxins in Brittany's body had left the baby in a very poor state.
In just a few days, he had been resuscitated several times.
This time, it was even worse. Even the most authoritative doctors were at a loss.
"Let's talk inside."
Isaac didn't have a moment to spare. He strode into the research institute.
The waiting team came to greet him, "Mr. Salter, Nathan has told you about Kyle's condition, right? At this point, it seems unnecessary to resuscitate him."
After several attempts to save him, Kyle was in critical condition.
Even if he could be saved that time, his healthy growth could hardly be guaranteed.
