After Brittany had her cry, she headed into the bathroom.
She turned the faucet on, scooped up some water with her hands, and threw it fiercely onto her face. The icy water hit her skin, its chill biting.
What Brittany needed was to cool down.
After spending nearly ten minutes in the bathroom, she came out to find her hospital room had been cleaned up.
The service in the private hospital was indeed good, always top-notch.
Brittany felt a bit amused. She straightened her clothes and leaned against the floor-to-ceiling window. Her eyes were filled with a cold glint.
…
That night, Isaac indeed brought her some snacks.
Brittany didn’t want him to notice her change; she ate the snacks and even asked him to sleep with her.
Isaac was surprised. He held her all night and didn't sleep well.
Brittany could feel his body changing, and because of that, she was more reckless. She knew that Isaac wouldn't touch her since she was still recovering, so she freely teased him in his arms.
Isaac was annoyed and couldn't take it anymore. He grabbed her hand and said, “Stop moving.”
“Mr. Salter, what's wrong?” Brittany asked calmly, as if she were oblivious to her own actions.
Isaac clenched his teeth, slightly trembling, “You haven't fully recovered yet; take a good rest first.”
Brittany pulled out her hand, moved it to his chest, and gently tapped it. The gesture left Isaac stunned.
“Once you're fully recovered, I'll give you a good punishment.”
Isaac muttered under his breath and bit her lip before heading to the bathroom.
Brittany watched him walk in. She glanced at the phone on the bedside table, picked it up, and successfully unlocked it.
The first thing she saw was a text message.
“I've decided I want to keep the baby.”
It was from Shona.
It seemed that they were not only getting engaged but also having a baby.
A sense of gloom flashed in Brittany's eyes as the sound of the shower from the bathroom gradually faded.
