Daniel's eyes bulged in disbelief, his hand clamping over his mouth, refusing to say anything.
His dad could actually sniff out what he ate?
Isaac stared at him with steely eyes, "Daniel, tell me what you ate!"
Daniel was scared when he got angry, so he obediently confessed, "It was ice cream."
"I only had one bite, just one bite!" he said, gesturing with his hands.
Isaac scooped Daniel up and placed him on his knee, quickly stripping off his pants and spanking him hard. "Daniel, I warned you not to eat such things. Did you hear me?"
He had put in so much effort to protect Daniel, who was already physically weak, yet he was sneaking ice cream!
A fiery pain started to spread...
Tears started streaming down Daniel's face. He cried out loud, his tears unstoppable, filled with a sense of injustice and helplessness. "I've never had ice cream before; I only had a bite! And all the other kids can eat it!"
Daniel felt so wronged. He had no mother since he was a child, only Granny Emily.
His father seemed to dislike him, even denying him ice cream.
He began to cry. Isaac couldn't bring himself to spank him again. His voice turned hoarse, "Daniel, I'm doing this for your own good."
"I don't need you to do this for me. I just want to eat ice cream!"
Daniel wriggled out of his arms and quickly put on his pants, and as the bodyguard opened the car door, he immediately got out and trotted into Radiant Residences.
Emily was startled to see him crying, "Daniel."
"Granny Emily, dad hit me!"
Granny Emily held Daniel in her arms, pained, "What did you do, Daniel, to make Mr. Salter angry?"
Daniel cried out, "I had a bite of ice cream."
Granny Emily's face changed immediately, "Daniel, you're not well. You can't eat such things."
Daniel felt very sad.
His father also swayed Granny Emily, and she wouldn't let him eat ice cream either!
"Nathan, get the doctor over immediately. Let's get Daniel checked."
Isaac's voice came over, and Daniel cried even harder, holding onto Granny Emily's hand and sobbing, "Dad hit me. He doesn't love me at all."
Granny Emily was heartbroken, but she knew Isaac cared about Daniel.
How could Isaac be so careful if he didn't like Daniel?
