The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 192

At the hospital.

Carter had just undergone a check-up, and the doctor removed his mask, sighing, "It's a good thing we acted just in time; otherwise, his situation could've been dicey."

Carter had had heart surgery before, and although he was quite robust and had recovered well, he was getting on in years and had the typical old-age issues. As he lay in bed, listening to the doctor, it seemed that today he owed his life to Allison.

Zachary asked, "Doctor, how's my father doing now?"

The doctor replied, "He needs to rest, but he's out of the woods now."

Cora Lindberghh-Hamilton also breathed a sigh of relief and, together with Zachary, followed the doctor out to discuss details about Carter's condition.

In the ward, there were also Lucian, Kamilla, and George, while Aidan was standing about two meters away from the bed with a cane.

Carter waved his hand, trying to shoo everyone away. "Alright, alright, it's not a big deal. You all can go home now."

None of the younger ones moved. Kamilla blinked. "Grandpa, you really scared us!"

Carter gently touched Kamilla's hair and said, "Hey, I'm fine, aren't I?"

Kamilla leaned over the bed, and Carter said, "Aidan, you're not in the best shape; you should head home. I don't need so many people here. You guys don't all have to stick around."

Aidan nodded in agreement, saying, "Take care then."

Carter said to Kamilla, "Kamilla, you should go home too. George, you take Kamilla home."

Kamilla wiped away her tears. "Okay, grandpa, I'll leave now and come see you tomorrow."

George glanced at Lucian, told Carter to rest early, and then left with Kamilla.

In the ward, only Lucian and Carter were left.

Lucian sat down on the caregiver's chair.
