The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 450

Wilton stepped out of the bedroom. He walked over to the balcony on the third floor, propped himself up on the railing, and let the night wind breeze through the French windows, rustling his hair. He had a scar on his brow, a faint one that everyone assumed was the result of some scrap he got into with some hotheaded trust-fund kid.

He gently traced the scar, and his eyes gradually turned hollow. This scar was from a car accident six years ago. Because he was, in fact, Frances. And the one lying in the hospital bed was his younger brother, Wilton.

Six years ago, they were both in a car accident. At the time, the Boswell family was in a shaky position. Frances, the heir to the Boswell Enterprises, was involved in a suspicious car crash. Both the Boswell boys were hurt, but Wilton got the worst of it, while Frances got off with a few scratches.

Knowing he was on his way out, Wilton insisted he was Frances to protect his brother. That was how they dodged Mina’s plot.

Seeing “Frances” critically injured, Mina dropped her plans to get rid of him. They found a scapegoat, and a drunk truck driver was willing to take the fall.

The brothers looked so similar that no one noticed the switch. From that day on, Frances lived under the name Wilton. He went from being the center of attention to playing the part of a carefree playboy, all to make Mina and her lot let their guard down.

And so it had been for six years. The only ones in the know were the two brothers, John and Morgan.

Downstairs, a servant saw Wilton leaving the bedroom. Timing it perfectly, he headed downstairs. Mina yawned, ready to end the night. The servant reported to her, “Wilton spent 40 minutes in Frances’ room.”

Mina nodded and began to head upstairs to rest. Ava trailed behind. She said, “The doctor said Frances won’t last much longer, at most half a year.”

Mina replied, “He is the eldest son of the Boswell family after all. He should die with dignity, right? It wouldn't hurt to give him a wife before he kicks the bucket, would it?”

Ava chuckled, “Madam, your arrangement is quite fitting. Let’s have the Santos girl move in next week.”
