Daisy had a hunch about what her mom was going to say. She managed to squeeze out a smile and assured her parents. "Don't sweat it, guys. I'm cool. Now that it's all decided, I'm marrying Frances and the Santos will get some shares. When Frances kicks the bucket, I'll be back in the saddle again. I'm rich, pretty and young. You don't have to worry about me. I'll head over as soon as I've eaten and freshened up."
After dinner, Daisy hit the stairs. Wyatt and Rosie moved into the living room.
"Have you met Morgan before?" Rosie asked.
Wyatt nodded, "Don't get your knickers in a twist, Rosie. Just let things slide. I've got to change and head to the office."
"How can I be okay with my daughter marrying a sick man? If it wasn't for the Boswell family's hefty influence, we wouldn't stand a chance. I hate this. Is Santos Jewels that big a deal? Our daughter is marrying into the Boswell family. We don't know what life she will have there, or whether she'll be bullied." Rosie said worriedly.
Wyatt tried to comfort her, "A big family like the Boswell's won't mistreat Daisy. Rosie. Worrying won't do any good. It'll just stress you out. Look at yourself right now. I can't just abandon the company. Daisy is our daughter, of course I'm worried. The Boswell family has been infighting for a long time, and it's no coincidence that Frances suddenly had an accident. How can I not worried about Daisy."
"We as parents are so helpless, using our daughter for a deal between Boswell Enterprises and Santos Jewels." Rosie sighed.
Daisy's phone was in the kitchen. She was about to go downstairs to get it when she heard her parents' conversation. She paused, almost tearing up as she saw her parents worrying about her.
She knew. This arranged marriage was something the Santos family couldn't fight. No matter what lay ahead and how complex the Boswell family was, she just had to roll with it. The Boswell family was so powerful, they could crush Santos Jewels like stepping on an ant.
Growing up, Daisy always thought she lived a charmed life. Her parents gave her tons of pocket money each month and her mom took her shopping for the latest clothes. Even a basic white tee was pricey. She had dozens of bags worth a fortune in her closet. She never hesitated when buying these things.
Santos Jewels wasn't that big, but it had grown a lot in recent years. Lots of rich ladies came to Santos Jewels for custom jewelry. Their designs were exquisite and reasonably priced, satisfying both the high-end and mass market needs.
Daisy had always thought her life was heaps better than the average person. Maybe because she had it so good before, she never thought she'd be in this situation.
About ten minutes after Wyatt left for the office and Rosie went back to the garden, Daisy finally went to the kitchen to pick up her phone. She took a deep breath and went upstairs. She opened her closet, picked out a few clothes, tried them on one by one and finally chose a beige dress. The cuffs, collar and waist of the dress were decorated with pearls, making her look both elegant and gentle.
Even though it was her first time meeting Mina, despite not knowing what kind of person Mina was, she at least wanted to leave a good impression.
At 10am, Daisy arrived at the Boswell's as scheduled. The door was opened by Ava.
"Ms. Daisy? Please come in." Ava eyed Daisy up and down, then immediately invited her in.
Daisy walked in and was led to the living room.
"Ms. Daisy, please have a seat and rest here for a moment. The lady is still in the study. I will fetch her immediately." Ava said.
