The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 605

Steven grinned, "Hey, are you from around here?"

Abbey slipped out, shutting the front door behind her before settling onto the couch. She leaned on the armrest, pivoting to face Steven, putting a bit of emphasis on her next words, "Yeah, I am—Robbie's cousin by marriage."

Steven feigned surprise, "Oh, a cousin by marriage, huh? First time meeting you, but I feel like we're already connected. I've got a little something for you, hope you like it." He unclasped the expensive watch from his wrist and extended it toward Abbey.

Her eyes widened with excitement, eager to claim the gift.

But just as Abbey reached out, Steven pulled back with a sly chuckle, leaving her grasping at thin air.

Pretending to be dismayed, Steven said, "Oh no, this watch is for men. Totally slipped my mind that you're a lady. How about we go shopping for a proper ladies' watch tomorrow, if you're free?"

Abbey hesitated, "Oh, I couldn't possibly impose."

"Nonsense," Steven insisted. "I haven't been back to Northfield in ages. Everything's changed, and I'm pretty out of the loop. How about you join me tomorrow? Show me around a bit."

Abbey nodded without a second thought, "Sounds great!"

She spoke, casually tugging her collar lower.

As Steven approached, Abbey couldn't take her eyes off the watch. The guy seemed loaded and wasn't shy about spending. Sure, he might have packed on a few extra pounds, but he had a decent face, a sense of humor, and an aura that was downright intoxicating. Abbey's heart was racing.

She figured she had a shot with this man. After all, she wasn't bad-looking—sure, not a knockout beauty, but with her willowy figure and big eyes, she was confident. She assumed Steven could read the signs—Robbie's women were easy game for him, especially one as sultry as Abbey. Any man would struggle to resist.

But now wasn't the time for that sort of play.

Steven swiftly added Abbey's contact info to his phone.

"I didn't catch your name, by the way."
