She winked playfully. "I'll keep you guessing for now, but stay tuned for 'Fragments of Truth.' Once that's wrapped up, I'll take a short break and then dive into my next project. I've been really in the mood to do a period piece lately."

The interview wrapped up at 2:15 PM.

A journalist approached Allison, asking for her autograph. "My sister is a huge fan of yours. She loves your work. She's gearing up for her SATs next year, and when she heard I was interviewing you, she was dying for your autograph."

Allison graciously signed her name and posed for a photo with the journalist.

Allison nodded and sipped her juice before addressing Emma. "I'll head back to the hotel, but I doubt I'll get much rest."

"What's up?" Emma asked.

"Someone's likely to come looking for me."

"Who? Did you arrange to meet a friend? We can't push back tonight's shoot; it's in the suburbs and we need to leave half an hour early. Charmé's head of PR for the Greater China region is attending – we can't be late."

"I know," Allison said calmly. "It's Charlie."

"Her?" Emma's eyebrows shot up. "What does she want with you?"

Allison let out a weary sigh. "It's not just me she's after. I have a feeling she'll be coming to you as well."

Emma frowned. "Charlie? She's not as sharp as Patty. But you know, it's often the cleverest ones who crash and burn the quickest."
