The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 683

The curtains had just fallen on Allison's last movie, and although she craved a short break—just a couple of weeks before diving into her next project—she found herself without a script that truly resonated with her.

Out of the blue, her phone buzzed.

Seeing the caller ID, she picked up, “Hey, Mr. Simonds.”

“Hey, heard you just wrapped up the movie? Bet the wrap party was a blast. Got a minute now?” It was Mr. Simonds on the other end.

She had met Mr. Simonds, the assistant director, on the set of the coming-of-age movie "Summer Times" directed by Cathy. They had clicked instantly.

“Yeah, I’ve got some time.”

“Got your next gig lined up? I’ve got a script here, and I think the lead role would be perfect for you. Want to take a look?”

“Absolutely, send it to my email. I’ll check it out right away.”

She shot Mr. Simonds her email address.

Within minutes, a complete script landed in her inbox—a rarity for someone with only a year's experience in the industry. Typically, only big names like Kayleigh got to see around sixty percent of a script. Mr. Simonds sending her the whole thing was a sign of genuine trust.

The script was his own creation, featuring Elliott, a 17-year-old who starts working odd jobs and meets Brandon. Together, they navigate the ups and downs of life. By 30, Elliott is a manager of a budding enterprise in the big city, and at 32, she's a self-made millionaire with her own business.

A saga of a woman's rise to power.

Allison spent the afternoon engrossed in the screenplay. Afterward, she called Mr. Simonds and they talked for a couple of hours, finally agreeing to take on the movie. Production would start on the 6th of next month.

She briefed her agent, Emma, about the script, leaving the negotiations to her. Emma soon reported that they had struck a deal with Sarah, now the deputy head of the Red Jack Club. Serena, the previous holder of the position, had been fired.
