The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 684

Allie gazed at Lucian, her eyes wide with a mix of wonder and disbelief. "For me?"

"Yep, do you like it?" Lucian asked, a soft smile playing on his lips.

He carefully slid the ring onto her finger, and a rush of emotions overwhelmed her. A ring wasn't just any piece of jewelry; it was a promise...

She stared at the ring now snug on her finger. "How did you know my size?"

"How could I not know my girl's size?" he replied.

"Lucian, is it really for me?"

"It's the pink pearl you peeled open with your own hands... back on the island. I wanted to give it to you for your birthday, but it took a while to make. I designed it myself; it's one of a kind in the whole world."

A warm surge filled Allie's chest, and she wrapped her arms around Lucian, suddenly feeling tearful.

Lucian had expected joy, but her tears caught him off guard. "What's wrong? Don't you like it?"

"I love it," she managed to say.

"Then why the tears?" he asked softly, his long fingers tenderly wiping away a tear from her cheek. "I thought you'd be happy."

"I am happy," she choked out, "so happy I'm crying. Ever heard of 'tears of joy'?"

She tiptoed up and planted a feather-light kiss on his stubbled chin. He'd been working away for weeks, and that hint of roughness tickled her lips. She reached out to touch his chin.

Lucian caught her hand and brushed his cheek against hers, causing a ticklish sensation.

She giggled and squirmed away, "Oh, stop."
