The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 685

Allison just closed her eyes for a quick rest.

After changing into a fresh outfit, she walked out and found Lucian chilling in the living room, absorbed in an old movie called "Forward" that Jennifer had starred in a few years back. She'd seen it too; it was a story about first loves who save and warm each other's hearts, going through ups and downs but eventually ending up together.

It was quite the artsy romance flick.

Hearing her footsteps, Lucian looked up. "Couldn't sleep?"

"Sleep? Nah, I was just exhausted and needed to rest my eyes for a bit."

"Tired, huh? You really need to work on your stamina. Maybe hit the gym when you have some time."

As Allison walked over, Lucian pulled her into his arms, settling her onto his lap, his hand circling her slender waist.

Allison shifted slightly, and Lucian, with a teasing tone, said, "If you keep moving, I can't promise I'll be able to control myself. Do you have any idea how much I've missed you? Just catching your scent is making my blood race."

"Why are you watching this, anyway? Isn't this movie like two years old?" Allison asked, choosing to stay still, nestled against him.

Lucian hummed in acknowledgment. "Jennifer's direction is solid. All on-location shots. Her team's cinematographer, Owen, is a master of long takes and landscapes. He's been her right-hand man for a decade; they've got a great dynamic."

Allison watched the film, realizing she hadn't thought so much about it back then.

It surprised her that Lucian knew so much.

"You're pretty clued up on the entertainment industry."

"I picked up a few things abroad." He managed Lindberg Corporation, but the conglomerate had many subsidiaries, including Epic Entertainment. Epic Entertainment had changed presidents twice, with Andrew, the former head of Valiant Films, stepping in as vice president. His keen eye brought in nearly a billion in profits and earned him the presidency, where he boosted Hudson’s career.

Allison hadn't expected Lucian, as busy as he seemed, to be so well-versed in every single subsidiary.
