The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 86

Margo twitched a bit at the mention of "police," and snickered, "Allison, you think just saying 'police' clears your name? The stuff got lost today, for sure it's still with the thief. I say we search them and their place!"

Before Christopher could open his mouth, Lean had already made up her mind, "Search 'em, we're getting to the bottom of this today!"

With the green light, Margo started frisking Wendy and Allison.

Allison clenched her fists, expecting Margo to take the opportunity to embarrass her. But to her surprise, Margo just gave her a quick pat down, then turned to Lean, "Ma'am, they're clean. I'll go check their rooms."

Lean nodded, and Margo bolted towards the shabby courtyard behind the villa.

She opened Allison's bag and dumped everything out. A pendant caught her eye, she tossed it aside, then unzipped the hidden compartment.

Ten minutes later.

In the living room, Margo presented the ring with a face of wrath, "Got the evidence right here! Found Missy's engagement ring in Allison's bag, hidden away!"

Penelope took the ring and examined it, then turned to Allison with tears in her eyes, "Allison, we've been good to you. How could you do this? I could ignore your past thieving habits, but this is my engagement ring with Lucian!"

Allison was stunned by the sight of the ring that had been pulled from her bag. She had only put her pendant in the bag before cleaning the bedroom and hadn't touched it since, let alone seen this ring before.

Grinding her teeth, she was more convinced that Penelope had set her up.

"I don't know how the ring ended up in my bag, but I didn't take it. Maybe Margo knows more! If you can blame me for stealing the ring, I can say Margo framed me."
