Thalassa was both flattered and a bit embarrassed by the attention.
She instinctively tried to pull her hand away from Lysander's, but he held it firmly.
Facing Harper's memorial, it seemed Lysander wanted Thalassa to stand by his side through it all.
Lysander, hand in hand with Thalassa, continued to address Harper, "You were my confidant, we knew each other inside out, the best of business partners. Now that I'm married, you'd bless me, wouldn't you?"
Matilda, upon hearing this, impulsively wanted to confront Lysander but was pulled back by Joshua.
Fuming, she glared silently at Joshua in protest. Everyone knew Lysander and Harper were childhood sweethearts, destined for each other. If Harper hadn't passed away, she undoubtedly would have been the one marrying Lysander.
And there was Lysander, introducing Thalassa as his wife right in front of Harper's memorial on her anniversary. Was he trying to disturb Harper's peace even in death?
Besides, even with Harper gone, there was Rosalind, who expected to be Lysander's bride. How did Thalassa come into the picture?
Feeling Matilda's angry gaze, Joshua shook his head calmly, signaling her to keep her cool.
Matilda was seething inside, her heart going out to Rosalind, expecting her to be green with envy, glaring at Lysander and Thalassa.
But to her surprise, Rosalind's face was calm, not showing the anger Matilda expected.
What was going on?
Had Rosalind learned to mask her feelings so quickly?
Or did she no longer care about Lysander?
Matilda had always thought she understood her daughter well, but today she realized she might not know her as well as she thought.
