The CEO's Unplanned Heir novel Chapter 576

Skyler whispered conspiratorially, "Of course you do. The Stirling Group is something like a throne, right? I heard your dad and Uncle Leopold went head-to-head over it, and it was vicious."

William pulled a face. "That was before I was born. Dad and Uncle Leopold are battling over Mom these days, not the throne anymore."

Skyler cracked a wicked grin. "I think your dad will lose. Because Angel always seems... to hang out with Leopold."

"That's 'cause Dad jetted off abroad to finalize his divorce with Lisa. Once he's back, he'll tie the knot with Mom." William countered.

"Leopold's gonna be upset then," sighed Skyler.

Soon enough, the two boys had a sandcastle budding before them.

Skyler asked casually, "Hey William, if you time-traveled back to like, the Middle Ages and became a prince, would you duke it out with your brothers for the crown?"

"Dunno," William shrugged, "I'm just a kid. Maybe I'll figure it out when I'm older."

William thought he would fight if it were a half-brother because he couldn't let his mom down. But if it were Kane, there's no way he would fight. Kane was his twin, his best bud, and the love was mutual.

Skyler bobbed his head and declared, "My bro Geoffrey says a soldier who doesn't aim to be a general is no good soldier. A prince who doesn't want to be king is no good prince."

William glanced at him. "And what about you?"

"I'm just a kid like you," Skyler stuck out his tongue. "But Geoffrey wants to be king. He says if there's a shot, you gotta go for it, no backing down or surrendering."

"Is he gonna challenge you for it?" William asked.

"Nope," Skyler shook his head. "I'm just a kid. So I can't be an heir."

"Does Geoffrey keep those nasty bugs and poison mushrooms to snag the heir spot?"

"Guess so."

"That's twisted. Even with half-brothers, they're still family. You can't hurt them. A crown won is by strength and honor, not sneaky tricks. It's wrong, and even if you win, it's no victory," William said earnestly. "Skyler, you should talk some sense into him. Tell him to play fair and square."

"Alright, I'll tell him next time I see him."
