Arnold was still immersed in the intense pheromones emanating from his beloved, unable to extricate himself.
However, Asher’s heart clenched. He forcefully pulled Arnold’s hand away, breaking free from his embrace.
Arnold felt a surge of loss within his chest, his limbs stiffening in response.
“Yes, Aunt Mila.”
Asher responded calmly, turning and opening the door without hesitation.
Outside, Mila stood with a smile. “I knew it. He must be here. I know you two have a good relationship.”
A good relationship.
It was indeed good.
Asher’s eyes flickered, but he could only respond with a shallow smile.
“Arnold, come to my room. I have something to discuss with you,” Mila said, beckoning to her nephew with a smile.
Arnold’s heart pounded.
He cast a deep look at Asher.
However, the man kept his head lowered, avoiding his gaze.
…
Arnold followed his aunt back to her room.
Once Mila shut and locked the door, her previous smiling eyes turned cold.
“Aunt Mils, it’s late. What do you want to talk about with me?” Arnold feigned a yawn, pretending to be tired.
“You need to return home first thing tomorrow morning.”
