Yvonne fixated on Drew with tearful eyes, but under the watchful eyes of surveillance, she had to put on her professional smile and dazzle him.
However, her tensed face could fool no one, including Drew.
Meanwhile, Christopher sat in the surveillance room and watched the duo’s every move.
The private room was equipped with high-definition cameras and microphones, capable of capturing even the slightest breath.
“Ms. Smith, I didn’t expect to see you here.” Drew raised a brow and said, “You have been on my mind since the last time we met. I have been dreaming of the day we meet again. I’m happy my dream was realized today.”
“I wasn’t expecting to see you here either, Mr. Brown.” Yvonne smiled unnaturally.
She knew she should not be fooled by Drew’s remark.
Still, she had butterflies when he said she was on his mind.
They had been in the game for a while. Remarkably, Christopher did not see through their façade.
“I guess we are meant to be.” Drew narrowed his eyes amusingly and acted like he was at home. “Come here. Don’t be a stranger. Sit.”
Yvonne took a step forward when Drew patted his lap. “Sit here.”
Sitting on the sofa, Christopher leaned forward and watched closely.
With her heart skipping a beat, Yvonne picked up the hem of her purple dress and approached Drew.
“Ah!”
Suddenly, Drew grabbed her arm and pulled her into his arms. Her little girls clung tightly to his muscular lap.
Christopher’s hands on the armrests clenched tightly, leaving scratch marks on the leather.
Drew’s breath hitched, and his eyes were tender. “Are you scared?”
Yvonne blushed, her heart thumping out of her chest. “Stop it, Mr. Brown.”
