Matthew had to put his mission aside and rushed to Wealthwave Group. Upon reaching the door, Matthew could tell something was wrong. The security guards at the entrance were new faces.
Thankfully, someone had a word with the security, and they let Matthew in.
Walking into the office, Matthew noticed that the mood felt a bit different from before. The workplace was dead silent, and everyone was absorbed in their tasks.
With a hint of confusion, Matthew headed to the top floor. He pushed open the door leading to the president's office and saw Rachel rubbing her temple.
He asked in disbelief, "With so many herbs missing, do we seriously have no clues at all?"
Rachel shook her head. "I can't find anything. Ethan Durbin, the general manager of Ozenia Charity, is missing. Have you come across him?"
Matthew nodded. "He's dead."
Rachel was taken aback. "How do you know he's dead? Are you serious?"
Matthew was the killer. How could there be any doubt about it? But he couldn't tell her the truth. And he was also amazed by how Ansel managed to keep the incident under wraps.
There were more than ten witnesses to Ethan's death, but somehow the news never got out.
After clearing his throat, Matthew told Rachel, "Ethan died in a car accident. I saw it when I passed by."
Upon hearing that, Rachel fixed her gaze on her coffee cup, and she was lost in thought.
After a while, Rachel sighed in resignation. "Since Ethan is dead, there's no point looking into the matter through him. The only suspect we have left is Sheldon, but we can't do anything to him."
Matthew was on the same page with Rachel's guess. The Smith family had been stirring up trouble recently. Even after Jeffrey was dead, Sheldon continued to give the Carter family a hard time.
Matthew had a hunch that the Smiths were after something. He usually stayed out of Wealthwave Group's business, but the issue would affect the company's production for another year. So, he had to step in.
