The Man in Power After Being Married into Her Family novel Chapter 1905

In truth, Elaine did not know who Carmen was.

She did not even know what Carmen's name was or where she came from at all.

The reason why Elaine said that Carmen was Charlie's aunt was simply because she was talking nonsense and making up stories. 5

The reason why she was saying this was entirely because Donald’s words had already scared her completely.

Elaine was afraid that Donald would really kill her. So, she thought to herself, 'Since Donald wants to kill one of Charlie's immediate family members to relieve his hatred, I might as well drag that b*tch behind me into this matter! This way, I will not only be able to save myself, but I will also be able to take revenge on this woman for humiliating me and fighting with me just now!’

'This d*mn woman came to look for me, and she was being so pretentious in front of me! She even tried to cheat me with a fake cheque and asked me to persuade my daughter to divorce Charlie! It is completely justifiable for me to accuse her of being Charlie's aunt based on this point alone!' s

Therefore, even Elaine would not have expected that she would have hit the mark by a fluke!

Donald never expected that the woman who was tied u p behind Elaine would actually turn out to be Charlie's aunt! So, he asked in surprise, "Elaine, you are not lying when you said that she is Charlie's aunt, right?" 1

"Of course not!" Elaine blurted out immediately, "This woman is indeed Charlie's aunt! She came all the way t o the beauty salon to look for me just now, and she even offered to give me a cheque for one hundred million dollars if I agreed to persuade my daughter to divorce Charlie!" 1

Upon listening to Elaine's words, Donald walked toward Carmen before he looked her up and down.

Although he could clearly see that Carmen was very well dressed and did not look like a person with an ordinary background, he did not have any impression of her face at all. 1

However, Donald could not be blamed for his ignorance. The main reason behind this was because although the Wade family was famous, the immediate family members of the Wade family rarely showed up i n the public eye for their personal safety. Aside from the members of the upper-class society in Eastcliff, any ordinary person would rarely be allowed to meet anyone from the Wade family. 1
