Jasmine was at her wit's end as well.
Of course, she hated Tyler and Reuben very much, but she didn’t truly want them dead now that she was asked about it.
On one hand, they were blood-related family. On the other hand, she was worried that overdoing this would make her grandfather sad.
Jasmine knew her grandfather very well. She knew that although he was very strict and hated Tyler and Reuben, he would not truly want to punish them with death. 2
Thinking of this, she turned to Charlie and said earnestly, "Master Wade, although they have done many wrong things, they are, after all, our family members, and I hope that you can spare their lives...” 4
Once she said it, three people at the scene heaved a long sigh of relief, namely Tyler, Reuben, and Lord
Moore.
Tyler and Reuben were obviously relieved because Jasmine chose to spare them from capital punishment.
As for Lord Moore, he had been afraid that Jasmine would want them dead because of her hatred, but he didn’t dare to explicitly say that he wanted them to be kept alive in front of Charlie. Hence, the verdict of
their punishment was entirely in Jasmine's hands.
He was now relieved once he heard what Jasmine had said.
