Isaac truly did not expect that Charlie would simply choose to give up on the old mansion that he had been so determined to get his hands on after waiting for such a long time.
Isaac could not help but felt anxious for Charlie as he blurted out, "Young Master, you have already been thinking about buying this mansion for such a long time. It is right there waiting for us now, and we can almost get it. You should not give up on it just like that! Otherwise, there will be no other way for you to get over your regrets if you regret your decision today H
Charlie sighed softly before he waved his hand and said seriously, "It's okay. I don't want it anymore. It seems as though this Aunt Dunn needs the mansion much more than I do.”
After he was done speaking, Charlie said emotionally," This is the old mansion where my parents and I used t o live together back then, but I do not even have the courage to personally attend and sit in the auction hall to participate in the auction myself. On the other hand, Aunt Dunn could actually openly sit outside in the auction hall to bid for the mansion that she wants. She is already much better and more qualified to get this mansion as compared to me."
Charlie truly admired Helen from the bottom of his heart. 6
A vast majority of people did not know that he was the young master of the Wade family, and they did not know that he was the only bloodline that Curtis had left behind in this world. Therefore, this was the reason why he had decided to be cautious instead of publicly participating in the auction. He had even used Isaac's driver's name to sign up for the auction.
Charlie really admired Helen's courage even from this point alone.
As the saying goes, a gentleman would always be ready to help others to achieve their goals. So, Charlie decided to back out of the competition and give this mansion up to Helen instead. 5
Although he did not know who Helen was, he knew that Helen had loved his father for many years even though her love and affection were unrequited.
Perhaps this mansion would give her a visible and tangible ideological comfort for the thirty-over years that she had spent loving his father. 3
Charlie regarded it as though he was thanking her on behalf of his deceased father for her friendship and affection over the years.
At this time, the bidding was still ongoing outside. 2
Isaac's driver had not received any instruction for him to give up on the bid yet. After Helen raised the price t o sixty million dollars, he raised his hand again and bid for sixty-one million dollars.
Charlie sighed deeply as he thought about the old mansion before he stood up and told Isaac, "Tell your driver to stop bidding for it.”
