The Playboy’s Downfall novel Chapter 20

ISLA

“Are you sure Apollo didn’t see Becca?” I asked Zero while I’m fixing myself in front of the mirror.

Zero gazed at me through the mirror. “That’s why you need to go home now.”

I arched my brow. “Huh? We’re still enjoying—”

“You need to go home before Apollo will find out that you two, we’re here. I will tell Becca. So, hurry up and let’s go upstairs,” he uttered which makes me nod my head and glance at my reflection one last time.

When I’m done, we exited the ladies’ restroom and we were lucky enough because no one dared to enter.

“This way,” he headed and walked narrowly and it led us to the stairs. We climbed until we reached the second floor.

“Where’s Apollo then?” I asked.

“At the VIP area near the entrance. Don’t worry, he will not see you because he’s staying at the blind spot,” he said which confuses me but I just nodded after.

“Hey,” Zero called Becca’s attention as we stopped near them.

“What?” Becca replied and was glaring at Zero. “Why are you with my best friend, Zero?” she asked.

When I looked at Zero, he put his hands inside his pocket. “You better get out of this place,” he uttered.

“That’s not the answer to my question, Zero—”

“Don’t be stubborn, Becca. Apollo was downstairs and if he catches you, your friend’s freedom here will be more at stake. So, you better choose—”

“Yeah. Yeah, I get it,” Becca interrupted and stood up. She glances at the blonde guy, who’s busy listening to the conversation. “Nice meeting you. ‘Till next time,” she said and the man just nodded.

I don’t know but why do I feel like the man feared Zero and his expression when he saw him, it seems like they knew each other.

I then went closer to Zero and whispered something, “You know him?” I managed to ask, bravely.

“He’s gay,” he whispered back to me which makes my eyes widen, and gasped in shock.

Becca folded her arms in front of her chest and arched her brow as she looked at Zero, then at me.

“Care to share the things you’re whispering about?” she asked.

I shook my head and flashed a smile. “It’s nothing,” I replied and bite my lower lip not to burst into laughter because of the thing that I’d heard from Zero.

Becca hated gays. So, I don’t know what will be her reaction when she finds out about it.

“Let’s go?” I asked.

“Maybe, you’ll send Isla first at the condo, Zero. I really wanted to enjoy my night and this guy,” Becca winked at the blonde-haired guy, “I enjoy his company. Come and fetch me later.”

“No. You need to go home also—”

“Please?” Becca clasped her palms together.

Zero heaved a deep sigh and I saw how he bite his lower lip. Are we both thinking the same thing?

“Are you sure you want to talk with this guy?” Zero pointed at the man. Becca then nodded.

“Pfft—” Damn! I cursed.

I saw how Becca’s forehead knitted. “Anything funny?” she asked which makes me wave my hand and shake my head.

Zero arched his brow. “I’ll be back. Behave, Becca. And don’t get caught.”
