ISLA and Becca are watching in the living area of their condo when the doorbell rang. Becca put down the throw pillow and rushed towards the door. She looked at the monitor and she saw Zero. She formed a sly smirk on her lips before opening the door.
Zero knitted forehead welcomed her eyes.
“Good evening, my dear cousin—” her words have been cut off when Zero pushed the door widely and entered.
Becca gritted her teeth and closed the door harshly. “You’re being rude, Zero,” she uttered when she caught up.
Isla looked at them with her wide eyes and parted lips. She gazed at Becca and then at Zero—she gasped when their eyes meet and immediately diverted her gaze back to the television.
Zero smirked and sat on the one-seater sofa, eyes still darted to Isla.
“Hands-off with my best friend, you jerk,” Becca asserted and blocked his view. He looked up and frowned slightly. Becca arched her brow, crossing her arms in front of her chest. “What? Don’t imagine things with my best friend, Zero,” she warned.
Zero scoffed. “Then she should wear more decent clothes than wearing a silky sleeveless without wearing a bra,” he replied and rests his arms on the armrest of the sofa while he crossed his legs.
Becca’s eyes widened, rushed to the side to grab the pillow and slam it into her cousin several times. “Freaking pervert—man whore!” she exclaimed while continuing to hit Zero with the soft throw pillow.
Isla heaved a deep sigh upon watching them. She hemmed, pretending to clear her throat to catch their attention.
Becca turned in her direction and glared at her. “Go back to your room and wear a freaking robe. We have a pervert—Ouch! Zero!” Becca exclaimed when Zero slapped the back of her hand. “What’s wrong with you?!”
Zero slightly frowned. “Do you really need to shout and flaunt shits in front of my face?”
Becca arched her brow. “Yes, why?”
Zero let out a sarcastic chuckle. “If only I knew that we will be dealing with a crazy—”
“What are you saying?”
Zero shook his head. “Nothing. Anyway, why do you need from me?” he asked and suddenly he caught Isla through his peripheral vision as the woman stood up and went to her room.
“Eyes here, Zero Cohen. Don’t ever daydream in fucking my—” she paused when Zero pierced a glare at her. “I-I mean… I need your help.”
Zero grinned. “About what?”
Becca sat beside him, on the one-seater sofa and heaved a deep sigh. She groped for the remote and turned off the television. She looked at Zero and sighed again.
Zero arched his brow and leaned on the backrest. “What now?” he asked, impatiently.
“Dad wants me to study abroad and I don’t know if I will—”
“Then go,” Zero interrupted.
Becca looked at him with his forehead creased. “But I’m already enrolled and I don’t want to stay away from Isla.”
“Then just get four semesters and come back,” he replied which makes her choke her saliva and cough.
Zero leaned forward. “Are you alright?” he asked.
Becca gently tapped her chest and nodded. “It’s just that… you and Isla almost uttered the same opinion. However, do you really think it’s the best for me—”
“It is. You knew your dad won’t stop until you do what he likes—”
“But I wanted to become a pediatrician—I want to enter the medical field.”
Zero laughed which makes Becca grimace. Isla also paused when she saw how Zero laughed.
“Becca, if I were you, bury that dream of yours and focus on the business field. You will be the only successor of your parents. You better—”
“Can’t I have the freedom to choose what field I will take? Do I need to follow him?” her voice weakened as if she gets no hope.
Zero sighed and suddenly gazed at Isla which makes the latter gasp and suddenly rushed towards the kitchen.
Isla’s heart started to thump fast as if she was in a race. She clutched her chest and leaned on the wall as she looked at the ceiling.
If Becca will leave, Zero will have the freedom to do his thing with her.
She shook her head and started to walk her way towards the refrigerator to grab some drinks for their guest. When she was done, she put the glasses inside the tray and walked his way towards the living area.
