Kingsley was slightly taken aback at their confession. I never thought that these two spies from the Empire of the Setting Sun would be so honest and come clean about them being a foreigner after merely meeting me a few times. Then again, it's not that surprising. After all, I have paid them seven-figure Qustia Dollars for this deal alone. To them, I am an important client. In that case, they couldn't possibly be willing to lose my business. They will surely hope our collaboration will be a long-lasting one! Also, I suppose Cedric and Emmett knew that their unnatural and strange accent would arouse my suspicion sooner or later. That's why they figure it's better to take the initiative to come clean and make me think that they are genuinely just here for business.

Therefore, it was with that thought in mind that Kingsley donned an indifferent smile. "So, what if you are the people of the Empire of the Setting Sun? I don't care about those state affairs! I only care about whether I can get my hands on top-notch goods so that I can expand my influence and occupy a larger territory in the underworld!"

Both Cedric and Emmett beamed with joy when they heard what Kingsley said. In an instant, all their worries from earlier dissipated. "Oh, Mr. Nicholson! You are a true hero for having such thoughts!" Cedric laughed. "In that case, I can speak my mind without any worries!"

With that, Kingsley pretended to be all ears. "Do tell, Mr. Field."

Cedric glanced at Kenny, who stood beside him. Then, he stepped forward and whispered to Kingsley, "Mr. Nicholson, I'm sure you are also aware that the citizens of the Empire of the Setting Sun aren't welcome here. Not to mention, I am running a firearms business. I will probably lose my life once I get discovered by Qustia Military. So…"

Kingsley's gaze flickered slightly as he asked, "So, I assume that you're here to seek protection from possible threats?"

Cedric and Emmett nodded profusely upon hearing Kingsley express their thoughts. "That's right. Since we have no backers in Qustia, we won't be able to get ourselves out of particularly sticky matters once that happens. Hence, we truly hope that you can provide us asylum!"

Alas, Kingsley stared at their hopeful faces and asked doubtfully, "How can you be alone when you can get your hands on such goods? Did your country not send people over to help you?"

"Of course, we have received help. Otherwise, the two of us alone wouldn't be able to smuggle so many weapons across the border." Cedric sighed and continued, "However, we have always maintained a one-way contact. We can't contact them at all unless they come looking for us. We are nothing but insignificant thugs in the Empire of the Setting Sun. We're merely their little errand boys. So, we have never expected them to protect us once the going gets tough."

Kingsley sneered inwardly as he listened to Cedric's complaint. Team Nightcrawler is nothing but bait, and what is that bait for? To be sacrificed, of course! Yet, at the same time, I couldn't help but feel that I have struck gold. I was still thinking about how to gain control over these two spies. Imagine my surprise when they voluntarily walked straight into this trap I had set up.

Kingsley allowed the bubble of genuine joy escape from his lips as he said, "Mr. Field, since you have stated your request, I will undoubtedly agree to it! You'll be under my protection from now on. I guarantee that you will never be in any danger as long as I can help it!"

Cedric and Emmett instantly burst into tears of gratitude upon hearing Kingsley's assurances.

Cedric took Kingsley's hand in his as he blubbered gratefully, "Thank you, Mr. Nicholson. You have no idea how we spent our lives in Qustia during this time. The day drags on as we feared that there would be ambushes lying in wait for us. We couldn't even get a good night's sleep after stepping foot in this country!"

Emmett also started complaining, "Yeah. Initially, we found a demolished village and wanted to settle down for a while when we were in Diosna City a while ago. Yet, we never thought that the Qustia Military would immediately dispatch a helicopter in search of us. That scared the sh*t out of us that we rushed back to Cleapolis!"

When Kingsley heard what Emmett said, his heart skipped a beat. Diosna City? A demolished village? Is it possible that these two were in the demolished village at the time I sent someone to rescue Serena? In that case, wouldn't it be highly likely that the website manager was also there at that time?! Have I failed to meet the other party by a narrow chance?
