The driver parked the car by the roadside, and Shaun turned to the two people in the back seat, saying, "Make sure you watch her and don't let her cause any trouble."
"We got it, Shaun!"
Shaun immediately parked the car and started to walk along the halted traffic.
He could see the numerous traffic cops ahead after passing more than a dozen cars.
At this point, his expression changed, and he pretended to casually ask the driver of a nearby car. "Hey, do you know what's going on over there?"
The driver was leaning against his car smoking and didn't think much of it. He complained, "I just went over to find out. They said there's an escaped criminal, and they're checking every car.
Why can't this d*mned criminal pick a different day to flee? What a waste of time for—"
Shaun didn't listen to what he said afterward and turned back to the car directly.
"The traffic cops are checking for an escaped criminal up ahead. Let's take the next road."
After hearing Shaun's words, the driver was taken aback and asked, "Shaun, should we wait a little longer? It's a traffic violation to exit the highway now."
Smack!
Shaun slapped the back of the driver's head.
"We have someone tied up in the car! Is breaking traffic laws more dangerous than getting caught by the police?
Hurry up! Back up and exit the highway from the side before any cars come."
Rubbing his head, the driver was forced to follow Shaun's advice and slowly reversed the vehicle.
Then, they crossed the solid line and exited the highway from the side road.
"Take the closest road. The faster, the better!" Shaun ordered in a low voice.
"I feel uneasy. I have a feeling something will happen."
Shannon, who was sitting in the back seat, coldly snorted. "A clear conscience makes a soft pillow, they said. You kidnapped my son and took me hostage back to the Timothy Family. No wonder you feel uneasy."
Shaun glanced back at her without saying a word.
After all, Shannon was still the young lady of the Timothy Family.
