Kingsley laughed heartily before saying, "Alright, you and your wife should leave the hospital! Cayden is still with Kenny, so you can pick up your kid and celebrate as a family!"
Alan was surprised upon hearing his words. "They can leave the hospital just like that? There aren't any treatments left?"
He was so astonished because he knew that Shannon was critically ill the instant he laid his eyes on her. There was no doubt that she was already at death's door.
In all honesty, he had never expected that a patient with such a severe condition would be discharged immediately after she was cured! It only made it all the more shocking when it was her primary doctor, Kingsley, who made such an announcement.
"Treatment? Just go home and have a few good meals. Everything will be fine!" Kingsley smiled and said, "If Professor Gershwin is still worried, why don't you personally check her pulse?"
Alan quickly waved his hand and answered, "Dr. Nicholson, I have complete faith in your medical skills. It's just that... this patient has just recovered from a serious illness. Based on my experience, it would be better for her to stay in the hospital for observation for a few more days. My concern is purely out of professional responsibility, not because I doubt your medical skills..."
Kingsley simply smiled faintly. "Professor Gershwin, I understand where you're coming from. Why don't you consider checking her pulse as a final confirmation that she's hale and hearty?"
Alan immediately nodded upon hearing his suggestion and said, "Alright, let's see how the patient is faring..."
Then, he approached Shannon's side and gently placed his hand on her wrist.
One second.
Two seconds.
Three seconds.
...
The clock ticked away, and Alan's eyes widened with each passing second!
His previously calm face was now contorted in pure bewilderment!
The wrinkles on his face became more pronounced in his agitation as he trembled in stupefaction!
