After Freddie's words sank in, Jeremy quickly came to a realization. Yes, only by surviving can there be hope. If I were to lose my life, what would be the point of trying to hang on to wealth? After my passing, the Forward Vision Group would still fall into someone else's hands.
At this instant, Kingsley's gaze turned icy as he addressed Jeremy, "So, have you finally figured it out?"
"Yes…Yes, I have." Jeremy's head bobbed frantically, resembling a chicken pecking at grains. "As long as Miss Chermaine doesn't hold me accountable, I'm prepared to do anything. If you concur, I can have someone draft the transfer contract immediately." While saying this, he turned toward a man in a high-end suit. "This is Mr. Moore, my company's legal department manager. He can draft this contract on the spot."
Kingsley's lips curved into a faint smile as he motioned to the manager. "You! Come forward and draft a contract to transfer the Forward Vision Group to Neveah."
Meanwhile, the legal department manager, Tommy Moore, caught his breath at the sound of Kingsley's call. He had previously made biting remarks about Kingsley and was already on edge.
Seeing the man hesitating to come forward, Kingsley said coldly, "Huh? Must I extend a formal invitation?"
"No… No..." Tommy drew a deep breath as he inched forward with trepidation. Then, he spoke so faintly that it resembled a mosquito's buzz. "Drafting the contract on the spot is feasible, but Nev… Neveah must provide relevant information and proof. Then… Then, we must go through the notarization process—"
Before he could even finish speaking, he was interrupted by a loud scolding from Jeremy. "Proof? The Forward Vision Group is my gift to President Wynn. A heartfelt gesture, gratis! Understand? You've read too many books, and your brain has stopped working, huh?"
"Yes… Yes, I'll start drafting right away…" Tommy was startled by Jeremy's outburst, and he quickly nodded in submission.
Afterward, Cameron promptly requested a young member of the Sheffield Family to bring a laptop. Once the device was handed over to Tommy, he settled onto the floor. Then, his fingers poised over the keyboard and began drafting the transfer contract.
On the other hand, the unfolding scene left everyone present in a state of shock.
Kingsley's earlier proclamation that Neveah would eventually acquire the Forward Vision Group had been met with scoffs and disbelief. Yet, the tables had turned with astonishing speed. Even before Neveah could complete the discussion on the cooperation project, their competitor, the Forward Vision Group, had been taken over by Reene. In an instant, the glances directed at Kingsley transformed from skepticism to reverence, and no one dared to underestimate him anymore.
Tap! Tap! Tap!
Tommy's fingers danced across the keyboard, and his palms became increasingly sweaty as time passed. Internally, he reflected, This is the most confounding contract I've ever drafted. A corporation of this magnitude, relinquished by Mr. Windsor at no charge. No one would believe it if it weren't for my own eyes.
In the meantime, each keystroke punctuated Jeremy's anguish, akin to metaphorically driving a steel needle into his heart. The Forward Vision Group had been his life's toil and labor. He never envisioned that his loose tongue could culminate in such dire consequences. Then, his eyes welled with tears, and he appeared to age a decade.
"Mr. Windsor, you don't have to be sad. For you, this might not be an entirely unfavorable turn of events," Kingsley stated calmly. "You've grown accustomed to wielding power as chairman, believing arrogance holds no consequences. Alas, there's always someone superior, always someone beyond reach. As a person, you must always be vigilant and don't be too arrogant. The higher one holds their chin, the harder their fall. This time, I only took your company, not your life. Consider yourself lucky."
Jeremy's eyes, red and devoid of vitality, nodded listlessly. "This has been a harsh lesson indeed..."
At this moment, Freddie, kneeling beside Jeremy, found an opening to speak. He implored Kingsley, "Mr. Nicholson, what about me? Please save my life too. I don't want to be killed by Miss Chermaine..."
