Baron fell silent.
"It's not scary. Not scary at all..." He quickly nodded and bowed.
"Dr. Kremer, you're a stunning beauty, especially when you don't smile. You're like an ice princess straight out of fairytales."
"Ha!"
Alice couldn't help but laugh at his half-serious, half-joking words.
Then, she walked over to Kingsley.
"Kingsley, don't worry. I was in the operating room yesterday and was on duty at night. The patient is doing well."
"You've worked hard, Alice."
Kingsley looked at the redness in Alice's eyes, feeling sorry for her. "Are you exhausted?"
"Of course I am." Alice half-pretended to be spoiled and annoyed. "But, since he's your friend, I have to save him, even if I have to stay up all night."
Under the strange gazes of Baron and Wendell, Kingsley led Alice to sit on the couch and gently put his arm around her shoulder.
"Why don't you take a rest? Here, you can use my shoulder as a pillow."
Alice blushed. People are watching..."
"Who's watching?!"
Kingsley glared in the other direction, and Baron immediately turned and stood in the corner while Wendell closed his eyes and pretended to be unconscious.
After performing surgery for six hours in a row, Alice also worked the night shift, so she was genuinely exhausted.
She leaned her head on Kingsley's sturdy shoulder and softly said, "Then... I'll rest for a while..."
But just as Alice leaned on Kingsley's broad shoulder, closed her eyes, and prepared to take a break...
Knock… Knock… Knock…
Suddenly, they heard several knocks from the door.
Immediately after, the door to the ward was slowly pushed open.
"Who is it?"
Baron's eyes widened, his face filled with ferocity.
If that idiot brother of his came in at this moment, he would truly be asking for death.
"You mother—"
However, he stopped his curse halfway and closed his mouth.
That was because the person who entered was an incredibly beautiful woman.
