The Unwilling CEO's Love Game novel Chapter 11

The monthly exam results were in, and Class One has left the other eight classes in the dust.

As the head teacher of Class One, Jocelyn couldn't hide the pride on her face.

Wrench, the head teacher of Class Two, walked into the office and couldn’t help but express his envy, "Ah, Jocelyn, can't you give us a break? You're making us look bad here!"

Jocelyn chuckled, "Wrench, aren't you the math teacher for our class? Math's top scorer in the grade. That doesn’t make you happy?"

"Hah, that's even more irritating. We’ve got the same teacher for Class two, so why such a huge gap?" Wrench was rubbing his temples in frustration.

The other teachers laughed too.

Jocelyn had promised her students that if they ranked first in the grade, she would apply to pick up Willow from the airport, so with the score sheet in hand, she headed to the principal's office.

Half an hour later, Jocelyn emerged from the principal's office with a smile.

She walked towards the Class One, where Preston happened to be standing.

"You actually applied?" Preston frowned.

Jocelyn queried, "Is there a problem?"

Preston took a deep breath, "You'll regret it," and then he went back to the classroom.

Jocelyn puzzled. What was there to regret?

Since Willow had been a student here before, the leadership decided to invite her to the school to cheer up the students.

This news was even more exciting than the prospect of picking her up from the airport.

In doing so, Jocelyn fulfilled her promise.

...

After the last class, Jocelyn approached Preston's desk, "I'll treat you to a late-night snack."

Preston glanced at her, "Instant pasta?"

Jocelyn felt like smacking the kid but held back.

"Barbecue."

Preston raised an eyebrow, "I can join you for a bite."

Jocelyn rolled her eyes at him and walked away without a word.

There were stalls outside the school; Jocelyn ordered a serving of roast beef and let Preston pick whatever he wanted.

"Can we drink alcohol?" Preston asked and received a dagger glare from Jocelyn.

Preston pouted, "No fun."

Jocelyn handed him a juice bottle, "Students should act like students."

"You only get to boss me around." Preston asked, "Do you think you can handle Melvin?"

Jocelyn gave him a sharp look, "Mind your manners; he's your uncle."

Preston looked at her curiously, "How long have you two been together? Did he mention when he's going to marry you?"

"Why so nosy?" Jocelyn eyed his gossipy demeanor, forgetting her teacher's role.

"Just wondering if you can land Melvin," Preston said, nibbling on grilled meat. "You seem to be the first woman to get him home."

Jocelyn bristled at his words., "What do you mean ’get’? He came over on his own, okay?"

"Well, you've got skills," Preston gave her a thumbs up, "Keep it up, tame him, and then my mom won't have to worry about him anymore."

Jocelyn prodded meat in her plate, her mind a whirlwind. There were questions she wanted to ask but was too embarrassed to voice.

If Melvin found out, that would be mortifying.

After finishing the late-night snack, Preston responsibly walked Jocelyn back.

Suddenly, Preston said seriously, "If you're working late, you should have my uncle pick you up."

"Huh?"

"Didn't you notice someone watching you with bad intentions?" Preston gave her a look.

Jocelyn laughed.

Preston dropped Jocelyn off at her building, "Call me if you need anything."

Jocelyn was stunned, "Call you?"
