Little Gary actually felt touched that Heinz carried him in. He even thought that he must have understood a little about how things should be.

However, now, his true colours were revealed.

Little Gary was initially thankful to him, but now, all of that was gone.

He curled his lips in disgust and said, "I wanted to thank you, but now that you asked for it yourself, I no longer feel grateful for it anymore. What can we do about it?"

Heinz narrowed his eyes and snorted. "HI carry you back down then."

"Aren't you tired?" Little Gary rolled his eyes at him. "You're a 30-year-old man. Is it appropriate for you to act like a child? You're going to be a father to three or four children. Be careful, Mr. Jones."

"The father to three or four children. So, you do admit me as your father."

"Ugh," Little Gary wailed. "You're back at it again."

"Yes, I'm back at it again," Heinz said. "I must seize any opportunity I can to mention it. I need to occasionally remind you that you're being a little too heartless towards your dad as you're so thick-skinned."

Little Gary ran out of words to answer him. He held his head up while still lying on the bed and looked up at Heinz. He then revealed a sly smile and said, "Fine, fine. Don't try too hard to act as my dad. I definitely won't call you that."

"I had seen that coming. Fine then, you don't have to call me your dad. It's best if you don't for this lifetime," Heinz teased.

The father and son pair were at odds with each other. Little Gary harrumphed softly. He sounded very stubborn when he spoke. "I won't even think of calling you that. I don't even have the slightest intentions to do so. Why do you keep bringing this matter up? Is it that important?"

"Yes, of course it is. I have to bring it up every once in a while. This matter is very important." Heinz sat on the edge of Little Gary's bed and looked at him. He found this interaction of theirs amusing and interesting.

Although Little Gary didn't take him seriously, he was still his child after all.

Heinz was filled with fatherly love for his sons at that moment. Having seen how Zachary acted that day, his feelings for his sons were also

stirred.

He knew that the children wanted to rest, which was why he carried Little Gary and brought them up.

Now, looking at his son and bickering with him, he felt happy and content in his heart.

Just then Ernest walked into the bedroom after changing into another set of clothes. He saw that his brother and his father were bickering. Immediately, he then intervened and said, "Dad, we're both really tired. Since you've done so much for us, please also stop Maria from coming in to disturb us. We really can't stand it anymore."

"Boys should know how to act like gentlemen. Both of you are totally the complete opposite. Maria now has just lost her mom, and she has just reunited with your Uncle Zachary. She must be feeling lonely and abandoned. Both of you must be a little more patient with her. That's what you all should do and as men, as well as her cousins."

"If that's the case then I don't want to be a man," Little Gary said frankly. He continued, "If I have to act like a gentleman then I would rather not be a man. I'll leave my seat for you. You can enjoy being a gentleman. I just want to be a child and I want to sleep now. I've said it a thousand times now that I want to sleep."

Little Gary kicked off his shoes, climbed back into his bed, turned to the other side, snuggling his pillow. He didn't even change his clothes.

"Have a good sleep then. I hope you will still think so when you wake up." Heinz knew that in fact, when people were tired, they would lose their tempers. Little Gary and Ernest were probably irritated as they were tired.

"Sleep well too, Ernest." Heinz stood up and walked to the door. "Remember to close the door."

"Got it."

As soon as the door to the room closed, Little Gary got up from bed to change his clothes. He wanted to go to the bathroom to wash up a little, but then Ernest couldn't help himself and blurted, "Gary, were we a little too mean just now? She looked quite pitiful and although she went a little overboard, she's just a little girl. Did we do the right thing?"

Little Gary glanced at Ernest and rubbed the spot between his eyebrows. "My mind is in a mess now. I don't want to talk. Can we do this after I wake up? Let me sleep for three hours."

Ernest nodded and said, "I have already put your pajamas in the bathroom for you. You can change there." "Thank you, Ernest!" Little Gary said with a smile.

He walked to the bathroom and said, "It would be great if Maria was as smart as you."

"I'm a man," said Ernest. "Gary, when you're all pretentious and snobby you're like a girl."
