Yvonne didn't sense anything wrong so she answered truthfully, "Yeah, I used to make coffee every day."
"For who?"
This time, Zachary finally asked the question he truly wanted to ask.
Yvonne was startled, and only then did she realize something amiss. She responded, "For a friend."
Zachary fell silent.
He placed his coffee cup on the table; it made a crisp sound upon contacting the table.
Yvonne noticed the change in his expression and thought that he had probably misunderstood her words.
She didn't want to explain as sometimes, less is more.
They hadn't established trust with one another.
If anything, the trust they had for one another was too weak.
The more she explained, the more likely he would think she was trying to conceal something.
Therefore, she merely smiled without saying anything.
"Leave," Zachary finally spoke.
Yvonne could only nod, "Yes, President."
She turned around and left without having any intentions to explain anything.
Zachary looked at her back as she walked towards the door. Her back looked so thin, yet stubborn at the same time.
He narrowed his eyes and spoke again, "I need to attend a banquet tonight. Prepare a set of formal attire for me and yourself. You're accompanying me tonight."
Yvonne stopped in her tracks. She turned around and looked at Zachary shockingly, but quickly calmed herself down.
She asked Zachary, "What kind of banquet is it?"
"A business engagement," Zachary answered.
"Then I'll prepare something more formal," Yvonne responded, "Will something darker in color do?"
"Okay," Zachary answered.
Yvonne nodded, and only then did she say, "Is there any special place where you normally shop for such formal clothing?"
Zachary glanced at Yvonne and responded coldly, "Are you asking me such a question?"
Yvonne was startled. She immediately said, 'TH ask Aidan about it."
She also realized that she had spoken too much.
Zachary frowned but remained silent as he pursed his lips.
Yvonne looked at him before turning around to leave.
The door was closed again.
Zachary frowned and thought to himself, "Seems like she's adapting quite well."
It seemed that this woman was good at adapting to new environments.
In fact, she had exceeded his expectations.
Just then, the phone rang. Zachary picked it up and saw the person calling was Heinz.
He answered.
"Heinz?"
"How is it? Is your relationship back on the right track?" Heinz asked jokingly.
After interacting with each other rather frequently for more than a year, they had become close friends.
This morning, his people had tailed them and learned of their latest updates. Therefore, it also occurred to Heinz that he should start dismissing his men so as to not disrupt their personal lives further.
"Did you send your men to tail me again?" Zachary instantly guessed it based on what he had said.
"No, they were tailing Yvonne, not you," Heinz explained, "Ever since Yvonne reappeared, my men have been following her. I'm informing you officially that I'll be dismissing them so that you won't think that I'm trying to pry into your private life."
Zachary said to the phone, "Sure, high time you do that."
However, Zachary planned to have his men tail Yvonne, as he was worried that she would suddenly disappear again.
If that were to happen, he wouldn't be able to explain it to his daughter.
"I'm planning to pay you a visit, by the way," Heinz said.
