"But we aren't married," Yvonne said softly.
Zachary looked at her and replied with a smile, "If you want to get married now, we can go register immediately."
"No." Yvonne shook her head. "I don't mean to rush you. I'm just saying that this is all happening too fa st.-
Zachary frowned and looked at her. His deep eyes were like the sea, with no end in sight, yet they were so alluring.
Yvonne was captivated by his gaze. As if she had fallen into the abyss, willingly.
"Is it too fast?" He asked back.
Yvonne held her breath and shook her head. "I, I didn't mean that. Zachary, please don't misunderstand. It's not that I don't want to marry you."
"So you're saying you really want to marry me?" Upon seeing how flustered she was, Zachary could not help but tease.
She sure was cute. He had roughly understood Yvonne's thoughts from her reaction.
She was willing to.
That was enough. He didn't want to tease her anymore, yet he found it very amusing.
From the moment she began to fluster, Zachary already had a smile on his face. Now his smile grew even wider.
Yvonne lowered her head under his gaze, her face red from embarrassment and annoyance.
"You did it on purpose," she remarked with a pout.
Zachary smiled and asked. "What do you mean by 'I did it on purpose'?"
Yvonne's wet beady eyes were full of accusations. They caused Zachary's eyes to tense up.
He found it hard to control himself every time he saw her like this.
"Let's get married. What do you say?" His voice was deliberately low and hoarse.
Yvonne looked up at him with widened eyes.
Was he teasing her again or being sincere?
She looked at Zachary suspiciously, but he didn't look like he was joking. It seemed that he was being very serious.
Yvonne paused. "Are you serious?"
"I never joke about marriage," Zachary replied in a deep voice. "I've always been a responsible man.
It's not a loss for you to marry me."
Yvonne's face turned red, and she felt a bit hot. "Are you proposing? Or are you praising yourself?" "Both, I think," Zachary answered. "I think you should cherish the man before you. He keeps his integrity, and his love for you is stronger than gold."
Yvonne blinked. "In other words, you have always been deeply in love with me, right?"
"I've already told you that in my office today." He stared deeply into Yvonne's eyes without blinking.
Almost in an instant, Yvonne understood what he had said back then.
"Okay, got it." She swore that she would never ask such a stupid question again.
His love for her was deep. He remained a bachelor for years, and now he even planned to marry her. It was enough proof of who his heart belonged to.
"About our marriage, what do you think?" He asked again.
Yvonne took a deep breath, and then finally nodded her head seriously. "Zachary, I've never thought of marrying anyone other than you."
Zachary stood up from his seat and came to her side. He held her waist with one hand, her soft little hand with the other, and said seriously, "Your words have truly pleased me."
Yvonne nodded seriously and stated, "It's true, Zachary. I'm serious, I'm not lying to you."
