True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1523

Gary glanced at Celeste. She had to ask for his help, after all, so he found it amusing.

In truth, he had been waiting for Celeste to ask him about it, but she did not say a word even after he had waited for a long time.

He resisted the urge to the point where he almost couldn't hold on any longer.

Gary knew that Celeste had always been a strong and independent lady, but she would still seek help when necessary. That was how she was behaving right then as she asked him about it when she could not find out the answer herself.

It had him feel that Celeste was actually not a stubborn girl. He smiled and said, "Do you really want to know?"

What nonsense was that?

Of course, Celeste wanted to know. She had already asked him, yet he was still putting on airs.

Celeste felt annoyed, but no one could help her at that point. If she went to ask Eason, Eason would probably think she was stupid. So after she could not find anything wrong despite looking through the documents for a long time, she couldn't help asking Gary for help.

"Of course I want to know. Can't you see that I'm asking you about it?"

"I know that you're asking me for help. However, I don't think that you'll be able to understand it even if I explain it to you," Gary smiled as he spoke.

From the look in his eyes, it seemed like he was teasing her, which irritated Celeste.

She retorted in a rude manner, "If you won't tell me, how do you know that I'm incapable of learning it?"

"Calm down. I'm not mocking you." The corner of Gary's lips curled up into another smile as he spoke, "You should know that I've gone through reports for more than once. Back in Boston, I needed to read their reports to determine errors all the time. You're a beginner."

He glanced at the screen of Celeste's computer and found that she had jotted down problems detected.

He read it seriously before saying, "You've marked it clearly. It's actually a great thing to be able to find that out."

"You're humiliating me," she mumbled in annoyance.

"No." Gary shook his head, "To be honest, I didn't expect you to notice this. I thought you wouldn't be able to see anything wrong with it, but it seems that I've underestimated you."

Celeste did not think it was a compliment at all. She felt that it was a complete humiliation, so she refuted, boiling with rage, "You don't have to tell me that. In fact, I know that I'm dumb. You want to laugh at me, but you're afraid that I'll be embarrassed. If you want to mock me, do it."

With his eyebrows slightly lifted, Gary chuckled softly, "No, I'm not mocking you. If you're my girlfriend, I might feel comfortable doing it, but now, we're just colleagues."

Celeste tensed. She did not like it when he mentioned such stuff.

Her face darkened.

"So, I will retain the demeanor of a gentleman. I won't jeer at you. Relax."

The more he talked about it, the more insulted Celeste felt.

She glared at him and felt somewhat annoyed.

When he met her gaze, Gary smiled and went on, "I feel as if we're not just colleagues from the way you glared at me just then."

Celeste's heart clenched.

"Celeste, why don't you be my girlfriend?" Gary

asked playfully, "I'll teach you everything I know seriously. If we're colleagues, I might gloss it through. Why don't you consider it?"

Upon hearing that, Celeste felt even more upset. She had a feeling that Gary was doing that on purpose.

Her face sank, "Forget it. You don't have to answer my question. I'll directly ask Master Eason for help."

As she spoke, Celeste stood up and prepared to leave.

Gary blocked her way, "Ask Eason?"

Celeste nodded and replied, "Yes, Eason."

She'd rather ask Eason than be taunted by him.

Besides, he would always use that to make fun of her and upset her. So she decided not to ask him for help anymore.

However, Gary continued to block her way. Without impatience and humiliation on his face, he locked his scorching gaze on her, "Eason has made it very clear that you need to find the problems by yourself. If you haven't found the problems lying in those documents, you will only be wasting his time."

"It's still better than having to ask you for help," Gary smiled and said faintly, "Celeste, to be honest, you're in Jones Estate's branch company because of Uncle Logan. He knew you, so he ordered Eason to guide you. Have you ever thought of the fact that if it weren't for Uncle Logan, would anyone here be willing to guide you step-by-step?"
