Celeste did not know how big of a difference in their abilities was until she was done reading his report.
She fell into a deep state of self-reflection and did not say anything for a long time.
That was not only a complete blow to her intelligence but was also a big hit to her spirits. Celeste could no longer believe in herself.
She had lost all confidence.
Back then, she was still slightly confident in herself. However, after suffering from such a huge blow, the tiny bit of confidence left in her vanished.
Celeste fell into a trance for a long time. She doubted herself for a long while. In the end, she reached the conclusion that one should not compare themselves to others.
Secretly sighing, she tidied her documents. After reading Gary's documents once more, she returned them to him.
With that, she started to sort out the information and topics on her own, slowly absorbing what she
had learned.
Although she could not detect the problems lying within, she could still create forms and handle them well after reading the documents.
As she compiled her documents, she noticed Gary staring at her, unblinking, once she lifted her gaze.
His eyes were deep and pitch-black, shimmering with a bright radiance like obsidian.
All at once, Celeste felt a little embarrassed, her face flushed red.
She felt ashamed when one stared at her and when she lagged behind in her work.
After a brief moment of hesitation, Celeste spoke up, "Thank you for providing me with the information. You did a great job, and I'm amazed. You're indeed great. Now, I finally understand the gap between the two of us."
Seeing how downcast Celeste was, Gary comforted her by saying, "Celeste, you don't have to be so anxious. I'm different. I've always been sensitive to numbers. Plus, I'm experienced, so I could finish them in a shorter time. You didn't use the right method, that's all. Once you find a way, you'll definitely progress."
Celeste shook her head, "You don't have to comfort me. I know that I'll improve with time, and I'll find my own way as well."
With that, she cracked into a smile and got up to print the documents she had modified before she handed it over to Eason.
Eason was satisfied to see that. He said with a slight smile on his face, "It seems that Gary has taught you a lot. You mastered it in an afternoon. That's great. You've made good progress. You two are indeed suitable to be partners."
Celeste had her lips twitched in embarrassment. She had to admit that there was still a huge gap in between their abilities.
"Yes, he helped me sort it all out. I couldn't discover anything wrong with it at all."
Eason could tell that she was in low spirits, so he comforted her, "It's alright. Girls are generally less sensitive to numbers than boys. Besides, Gary is an exception."
"Master, you don't have to comfort me. I'll continue to work hard." Celeste smiled. She did not remain in Eason's office as she was afraid that she might delay his work, "I'll take my leave."
"Sure." Eason nodded.
After work, while Gary was still packing up, he saw that Celeste had disappeared in the blink of an eye. He hurriedly rushed out of the building, but she was nowhere to be seen, so he asked others,
"Have any of you seen Celeste?" "No."
Asking as he made his way to the exit, no one saw where Celeste had gone. After he inquired with the security guards, he learned that Celeste had already left.
Gary was worried sick. He thought of how depressed she had been throughout the entire afternoon and gradually turned even more distressed.
He did not know where Celeste had gone. Had she returned home?
After bidding farewell to Alex, he rushed home.
As soon as Gary entered the villa, he asked Pedro, "Has Celeste come back yet?"
"Miss Celeste hasn't come back yet. Master Gary, aren't you two interns of the same company? Why didn't the both of you return home together?" Pedro found it odd.
"So she hasn't returned." Gary frowned and turned to head out once more.
Noticing that he was about to leave, Pedro instantly called out, "Master Gary, do you need a car? Are you going to search for Miss Celeste?"
"Get me the keys." Gary turned around. He thought that it would be much more convenient for him to have a mode of transportation.
That would certainly make searching for Celeste much easier.
"Alright," Pedro picked up the keys in a hurry, but after handing them over to Gary, he asked, "Master Gary, have you given Miss Celeste a call?"
Gary was stunned. That was right. He hadn't called Celeste ever since he had left the office. When it came to Celeste, his mind would go blank.
