True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1534

"You promised me. If you can't keep your promise and force me to do things that I don't like, I won't forgive you," she was afraid that Gary would actually go for it, so she muttered in a low voice.

Gary felt somewhat helpless as he took a deep breath.

He stopped moving. After some time, he held Celeste in his arms and sighed, "Alright, I did promise you. Don't worry. Without your permission, I won't do anything inappropriate, okay?"

Celeste looked at Gary's face hesitantly. She wanted to see through his eyes to know what was actually on his mind.

His eyes were immensely dark. She could tell that he was trying hard to control himself.

Even though Celeste had some doubts, she still nodded after a few seconds.

"Let me go. You are not allowed to hug me without my permission," Celeste said seriously.

"I'm afraid I can't do that. I might not be able to resist the temptation to hug you, but I can promise you that I won't kiss you. Because if I start kissing you, I won't be able to stop myself from doing something worse." Gary didn't want to lie. He looked at Celeste and said seriously, "If you don't believe me, you can look at my body."

Celeste was a little shocked. Gary hugged her tighter, and for a moment, she felt it.

The moment she felt it, Gary let her go.

When Celeste regained her freedom, she blushed. Her gaze subconsciously fell on Gary's pants. It was shockingly erect.

Celeste quickly looked away and retreated to the kitchen to boil a kettle of water. As the fire crackled and burned, Celeste's mood was greatly unstable. She dared not go out.

However, she knew that Gary could see her. His gaze had never left her.

Suddenly, Celeste felt that coming to his home was a wrong choice. If a man and a woman were left alone in a house, something was bound to happen.

When the water boiled, Celeste made two cups of coffee and went into the study room with it.

Gary followed swiftly. Celeste sat down and turned on the iPad. She continued to read the documents that Gary had given her seriously. She was really as hardworking as a primary student who had just entered school.

Gary sat next to Celeste. Seeing her working so hard, his heart ached for her. He quietly looked at her with a smile.

Once Celeste started studying, she studied for an hour. The two of them did not talk much, unless she needed to ask him questions. Apart from that, they remained silent.

Not long after, Gary's phone rang.

It broke their moment of silence and disturbed Celeste.

Celeste looked up at Gary and said, "If you need to answer the phone, you can go upstairs. I can read the documents here. If you need me to leave for a while, I can go upstairs."

"You don't have to hide from this," Gary said bluntly, "there's nothing I can hide from you."

After that, he answered the phone.

A man speaking in a fluent foreign language came from the other side of the phone. He said, "Gary, he is firm on leaving the company. He will sell the results of his research to us too. He says he will compensate accordingly. He even signed the form."

Gary smiled and said, "It seems he is quite perceptive."

"He knew that he was quite impulsive and asked me to tell you that he is sorry," The other party continued.

"I didn't take it to heart," Gary thought about it and said, "How about this, apart from the conditions we have agreed on, give him another five million. Take it as compensation from us. Tell him that he will have full authority in handling the matter."

"You want to give him another five million dollars?" There was a hint of surprise from the man's voice. "Are you sure you want to do that?"

"I'm sure," Gary said in a deep voice, "Take it from my personal account. I'll give him five million dollars. This can be considered a reward for his ability to adapt to the current situation."

"Okay, I will complete the tasks you have given me accordingly."
