True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 1726

The butler did not answer. He continued to look at Gary silently with an aggrieved expression.

Noticing that he did not speak, Gary instantly furrowed his brows and said unhappily, "Hurry up and answer me if you heard me."

The butler was perplexed. He shouted indignantly, "Master Gary, didn't you tell me to keep my mouth shut? That's why I didn't dare to answer you."

At that moment, they heard someone burst out laughing from inside the room. It was Heinz.

He seemed to have found it particularly funny.

Gary was even more mortified. He glared at the butler before turning around and entering the room.

Heinz guffawed heartily. When he saw Gary walk in, he asked, "Gary, have you asked the butler whether dinner is ready? Why does it seem to me that you were merely standing by the door rather than going to the kitchen?"

Gary shot daggers at Heinz. "What's wrong with standing by the door? Did you see me not go to the kitchen?"

"Well, to be fair, I didn't see that." As he replied, Heinz could not help laughing again.

Grace also tittered alongside him.

Celeste lowered her head and covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.

Gary's gaze shifted from Heinz to Grace and finally to Celeste.

He could stand being laughed at by his parents, but he did not expect Celeste to do the same. How could Celeste be so ungrateful and do that to Gary? Gary wondered.

Sensing that a pair of eyes were staring at her with a penetrating gaze, Celeste lifted her head and saw his mournful eyes. Consequently, the smile froze on her face. However, it was only for a split second.

She could not help raising the corners of her mouth with a shy yet cute look in her eyes.

In the end, she actually laughed aloud.

She made no effort to disguise her amusement. Gary wondered if it was really that funny.

A feeling of despondency descended on him.

There was a growing ardor in his gaze as he looked at Celeste.

Celeste noticed his eyes smoldering darkly.

It reminded her of how he gazed at her when they were in the throes of passion, and she felt as if she could drown in his intense gaze.

Celeste felt her heart skip a beat. She immediately withdrew her gaze, no longer daring to look at him.

At the same time, the butler entered the room with the food.

Gary also looked away and calmed himself down a little. He said softly to Celeste, "Come over and eat something first. After that, let's go upstairs to rest. You've been unconscious for a long time, so you need a lot of nutrition and more rest."

However, he emphasized on the word "rest".

His words and his amorous gaze made Celeste's heart start racing.

It seemed that Gary had dropped a hint.

He was implying something.

She quickly got up and said to Heinz and Grace, "Uncle Jones, Aunt Smith, I'm going to have my dinner. Do you want to join?"

"Go ahead. You must be hungry. We've already had ours. Let Gary accompany you as he hasn't eaten much either. He hasn't had much of an appetite and couldn't sleep when you were unconscious these two days. Both of you need to rest more," Grace replied meaningfully, giving Gary a knowing wink.

Celeste wondered if her ears and eyes had deceived her as she caught the emphasis in Grace's voice when she mentioned the word "rest" and the wink.

She felt a surge of fear.

However, she did not want to think about it and quickly went for her dinner.

The butler put down a dish, then went back to the kitchen to bring another dish. He did that several times until the table was laden with dishes.
