Leah was stunned. This man wasn't going to let her go at all. He was constantly reminding her that he had a lot of tricks up his sleeve and that he had total control of her.
But she was still constantly trying to challenge Ernest, who seemed like a gentleman.
What she didn't know was that he was actually a scheming and smart man. Leah would never get any satisfaction out of arguing with him. She could only awkwardly say to him:
"Oh, fine. How about we go out for a walk later? I think it'll be great to take a walk. It is a great way to digest food after eating."
However, Ernest smiled and said, "I don't think that a walk is necessary. There are better exercises to do than walking."
Leah instantly understood what Ernest meant. After they finished their meal, they would probably have to go back to bed again. She was also very impressed by his physical strength. He practically hadn't rested at all. Wasn't he tired?
Seeing how sadly she was looking at him, Ernest's burning eyes slowly dimmed. He was no longer
anxious.
He waited slowly, like a hunter watching its prey. Everything was under his control.
It was Christmas. The night should be a night for couples to be happy.
He was a lot happier than Leah on this day. He wasn't single anymore.
This feeling was equivalent to celebrating the new year.
Leah always had a good appetite, so she continued to eat a lot of meat. As she ate, she continued to talk to Ernest about some domestic news.
"By the way, Ernest, the news says that Celeste is Sinclair's daughter. Is that true?"
Ernest had never told Leah about it, but he had no plans to hide it from her.
Since Leah had asked him about it, it meant that she was concerned. Ernest didn't lie to her. "Yes, Celeste is Sinclair's daughter. I didn't expect it to be on the news."
"It's breaking news. It's a good thing Celeste is abroad. Otherwise, it would have been really embarrassing. Having a father like that is not a good thing at all." "She must be very strong. If not, it would have been really difficult to cope with the situation."
Leah had seen Celeste on video today. She thought that Celeste was strikingly beautiful.
Ernest nodded without saying anything.
Leah was very surprised to see him behaving that way. She and Maria used to think that both Liam and Ernest had feelings for Celeste.
Leah saw that Ernest was quiet after she brought it up. He seemed to be in a daze too. She tried to get more information out of Ernest.
"Ernest, I saw Celeste today. She really is a very beautiful girl. She was so beautiful even at a glance that it made my heart flutter. If I, a girl, could feel this way, what do you guys feel when you see her? You and your brother are twins. Your brother likes her. Do you like her too?"
A chill ran up his spine when he heard this. He looked up at Leah, and a glimmer of light flashed through his eyes.
His gaze was fixed on her.
He knew that there was a hidden meaning.
He also knew that Leah and Maria were close. Perhaps Maria had told her something.
Leah was looking at him. Her bright eyes seemed calm, but he felt that she was looking sharply at him. She was staring hard at him, as if she wanted
an answer.
Ernest frowned, "Leah, if there is something you want to say, just say it. I don't like beating around the bush."
He sounded down, and his gaze had gotten sharper.
What?
Did he feel aggrieved when she brought Celeste up?
It seemed that Celeste was a thorn in Ernest's heart.
She lifted her eyes. Although she was smiling, her smile wasn't as bright anymore.
Her smile dimmed in an instant.
When Ernest saw her staying quiet, he said sarcastically, "If there is something you want to ask, just ask me. Don't beat around the bush. I don't like that."
She fell silent.
After a moment of silence, she said, "I didn't beat around the bush. I felt I was already very direct. What happened to you? You became so serious all of a sudden. I think it's strange. Did you like Celeste back then? Is that why you didn't like it when I mentioned her? Do you think my question hurt you?"
Ernest narrowed his eyes and looked at her. He felt really uncomfortable.
He stared at Leah as she questioned him. She was obviously smiling, but she was doubting him.
He took a deep breath and said, "My brother and I are fraternal twins. We're not identical twins. We don't have the same interests. But I do like Celeste. She really is beautiful."
He didn't deny anything. It was like a thorn in her heart when he said that.
