Upon hearing that, Gary's face turned cold, he immediately looked towards Celeste. He did not put the call on loudspeaker, and he had set the phone to a low volume. He figured Celeste might not have heard what the person was talking about.
Celeste looked at him too, as if she could not understand why Gary was looking at her. However, it seemed like the phone call had something to do with her.
She subconsciously got alert, but she did not show it.
Gary was expressionless while he glanced at Celeste faintly and replied to the phone, "Thank you for informing me. I will."
"Celeste hasn't shown any signs of abnormality in front of you, has she?" The person on the other side asked.
"No," Gary replied.
"A woman's thoughts are as difficult to grasp as a needle in the ocean." "I think so too." Gary had not expected Celeste to not mention or show any signs of anything even after receiving Janice's phone call. What did the two of them talk about?
"Their call lasted for seven minutes and forty seconds." The person went on, "It was a phone call from the United States, and she even sent her a message. I will forward it to you later."
"Thanks a lot." Gary thanked him.
After that, the call ended.
Gary noticed that Celeste was staring at him. Even though the lights were very faint, her eyes were exceptionally bright.
Celeste looked at Gary and ask, "Did something happen?"
"No." Gary did not say anything. Instead, he only looked at Celeste and asked as he pondered, "Why do you keep asking me if something happened? Has anything happened to you?"
Celeste shook her head, and she said, "No, it just looks like you have a lot on your mind."
Gary suddenly thought that it was a little strange then. Celeste had been talking to him a lot that day, and it had sounded like there were other meanings behind her words. Did it have anything to do with Janice's call?
All of a sudden, he seemed to have come to a realization.
At first, Celeste seemed to be avoiding him, and she even feared to look at him at times. Soon, she slowly started to take the initiative, and it should have been because of the phone call from Janice.
Suddenly, he felt that he did not quite understand Celeste.
Gary thought about it. Logically, if Celeste received a phone call from Janice, she shouldn't be showing such good attitude towards him. However, her attitude towards him was simply too good to be true then.
She treated him so well that it made him feel guilty and suspicious.
He really did not know what the two women talked about on the phone.
However, how did Janice get Celeste's phone number?
Celeste had changed her phone number. It was impossible for Janice to know about it.
Since Janice could call Celeste, then it meant that something must have happened.
Gary's expressions gradually changed as he looked at Celeste. He reached out and held her hand. He said, "It is getting a little cold out here. Let's go inside first."
As he spoke, he held her hands and slowly led her back into the villa.
The moment they entered the door, they saw Ernest and Leah downstairs.
The four of them greeted each other.
Gary spoke, "Celeste, you should stay here and chat with Ernest and Leah first. I need to go upstairs to make a phone call."
"Okay." Celeste nodded.
Gary told Leah, "Leah, could you please pour Celeste a cup of hot tea? She's feeling a little cold."
"Okay, Gary." Leah immediately poured some tea for Celeste.
Gary went upstairs without any explanation. He strode up the stairs three steps at a time with his long legs and got up in just a few steps. From the looks of it, he seemed to be a little hasty.
Ernest and Leah were both stunned, and they asked Celeste, "Why is Gary in such a hurry to make a phone call?"
