Gary was a little shocked deep down. He subconsciously stared at Celeste. Her expression was still the same as usual, but why did it feel like she was slightly tensed?
He thought of what his friend said, that Janice had spoken to Celeste on the phone for almost ten minutes. It was not a short duration, and a lot could have been communicated during that time.
When he thought of that, Gary suddenly thought of something.
Did Celeste suspect that it had something to do with her because he was on a phone call? Was that why she was nervous?
When he thought about that, Gary immediately understood that Celeste's palms might be sweaty because of the phone call he had received while he went upstairs.
She was such a sensitive girl, and it was only natural for her to have that much worries.
His heart jolted, and he knew that he had to settle the matter well, so that Celeste would not be bothered with those matters.
Gary smiled at Celeste, his smile was extremely gentle, and his face was no longer as anxious as it used to look a little while ago.
When she saw his smile, Celeste felt relieved at once. It made her feel that the call might not have anything to do with Janice, and it must have only been about his work, or his studies.
She smiled too. "We were all waiting for you. Now that you are here, we can all eat. We were all so anxious."
At that moment, the butler brought plates upon plates of food over. All the food served on the table looked very sumptuous.
"Do you guys want some wine?" Ernest glanced at everyone as he proposed that. "Aren't we about to send Liam off? It is only natural for us to drink at a farewell."
"I have to drive, so I can't drink," Liam immediately said, "Also, the crew has a lot of requirements, and they said that I can't drink."
"That's right, we can't drink," Maria immediately echoed, "We still need to be on the road later, and drinking might cause problems."
"I won't drink either then," Gary spoke in a deep voice. He thought about how he was tricked by Janice when he was drinking to drown his sorrows, and the big troubles that drinking had brought him. He was greatly annoyed by it.
Therefore, he would naturally want to stay away form alcohol.
No one was on Ernest's side after he suggested that.
Leah said, "Mr. Robinson and Maria will need to be on the road to go back to the production crew, naturally, they will not be able to drink. However, Gary and Celeste, you two don't have to travel. You guys aren't in a hurry either. I think that we can still drink a little, while Liam and Maria can have juice instead of wine. What do you guys think?"
Ernest nodded immediately. "That is a great suggestion. Gary and Celeste don't have to go out. Why don't we drink a little? Isn't that great?"
"I am not drinking." Gary's voice was still low, and his voice was firm, as if no one could change his mind.
That was somewhat unexpected for Ernest. He blinked and looked at his brother carefully.
"Gary, why does it look like you hate wine?" Ernest could not help but to ask.
Gary's expression stiffened. He raised his head and rolled his eyes at Ernest, and the look in his eyes showed that he despised him for being so busybody.
As he was being glared at, Ernest was confused.
Maria did not know what was going on at all, so she persuaded on the side, "That's right, Gary, you and Celeste are not going out. You should drink some wine. Take it as us welcoming you back here, and it's also a farewell for us too. Isn't that great?"
"Why are you all so wordy? You are still so young, yet you keep urging people to drink. What's the point? I've already told you guys that I am not going to drink, don't you understand?" Gary said quickly. His tone was getting impolite.
Maria was stunned by his words, and she looked at Gary in confusion. "What's going on? Why are you so cranky?"
"I'm not drinking," Gary only said that in a deep tone, and he did not want to explain any further.
"I think that we won't be drinking either. Ernest, Leah, if you two want to drink, you can. Either way, I think that Gary and I will not be drinking."
"Well then, forget it. Let's just have some juice, or tea instead," Leah hurriedly agreed.
"I'm not drinking anymore then." When he saw that no one had any intentions of drinking, he naturally did not want to drink either.
Gary did not speak. He passed a glass of orange juice to Celeste and placed it in front of her. Then, he said gently, "You should drink some to replenish your nutrients."
"Gary, I want some juice too. Get me a glass." Maria looked at how gentle Gary was to Celeste and immediately teased him with a smile. She insisted that Gary to pass her a drink too.
Gary did not even look up. Without even batting her an eyelash, he refused calmly, "If you want it, get your man to do it for you. I only take care of my woman."
