True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 2013

Gary really couldn't hold it in any longer. He wanted to say something and make Janice regret her choice of words.

But then, he knew he shouldn't do anything to make Celeste even angrier with him. He was already at fault in this.

Once again, he swallowed back those words and fell silent.

Celeste said over the phone, "How are you so sure about this when you don't have anything left to bargain with? Could it be that you still think you can hold something against us?"

"Gary made a promise with me," Janice said, "Gary promised to be my boyfriend in two months time."

Celeste's only response was a twitch of her lips, as though she was not at all affected by this.

She believed that Gary only made this promise with Janice because of Lowell.

"If he promised to be your boyfriend, why does he have to wait until two months later?" Celeste questioned sharply.

"That's because he needs to settle things with you first! Celeste, you should just leave him right now if you don't want to embarrass yourself," Janice threatened.

Celeste sneered, "That shows exactly how much he cares about me."

"Stop saying nonsense. Even if he cares for you, he still slept with me. You don't even know how amazing he was that night," Janice didn't bother to sugarcoat her words.

Celeste felt a jab in her heart.

Her face turned pale as it was drained of colour.

Gary's temples throbbed and he raised a brow. His gaze turned sharp and icy at the thought of Janice. He wanted no more but to tear Janice apart.

In fact, he had no recollection of what happened that night. He didn't even remember sleeping with Janice.

He could only remember waking up to Janice lying beside him barely dressed. She even looked at him as if he really did something to her.

At that time, Gary was furious, only to have Janice tell him to forget about them sleeping together entirely.

Until now, Gary still didn't believe that anything happened between them.

He believed he was too drunk to do anything.

Thus, Gary found it necessary to investigate this matter. He refused to let anyone frame him and his chastity.

Celeste calmed down and said, "Tell me the details then. Just how amazing was he that night?"

"Celeste!" Gary tried to lower his volume. He was worried to see Celeste like this. Furthermore, he felt humiliated.

He was really uneasy to hear her talking to Janice about this.

It was as if he was sitting on pins and needles.

He had never felt so shameful in his life. Now, he felt as though he wanted to find a hole and bury himself in the ground.

Janice sneered, "I don't want you to collapse after I tell you the details. It will only drive you crazy."

"You're right. I'd go crazy because of my jealousy to hear that, but then again, no one knows if you're telling the truth or if you're just making up a story," Celeste narrowed her eyes.

Her intuition told her that Janice would definitely have bragged about this earlier if it really happened.

However, Janice had never bothered to bring up the details at all.

This didn't make sense.

Similarly, Gary was frowning hard.

Usually, he would run out of patience to listen to women talking. However, he was left with no choice but to continue listening to the entire conversation.

"Celeste, I think you are really out of your mind."

Janice's slightly breathless voice came from the other side of the phone. It sounded like she was a little agitated.

Celeste had a feeling that there was more to this incident than meets the eye. It was possible that Janice was acting like this because she was trying to hide something.

"I will never let you know the details of that night!" Janice suddenly exclaimed.

"Then I'll just assume that it didn't happen at all," Celeste sounded confident and indifferent.

Gary's eyes flickered for a moment before he took a closer look at Celeste.

He admired the fact that Celeste was still able to keep a clear mind to think things through at this point.

It wasn't because Celeste was trying to pry. She was just trying to get an answer from Janice.

Now that he thought about it clearly, it made sense.

He was too drunk to feel horny anyway.
