True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 2030

"How are you, Celeste?" Lowell smiled and asked after being momentarily stunned. He was trying his best to calm his emotions, not wanting Celeste to notice anything different.

Celeste was acting the same deep down as well.

She knew clearly what happened with Janice and Gary, but she had to act as if she didn't.

This was because she didn't want Lowell to be upset.

Regardless of how things were, Lowell was a kind person.

Celeste didn't want Lowell to be sleepless at night.

After all, it was already a pity that Lowell had fallen for a person like Janice, who was someone he could never fall in love with.

Now that something unpleasant had happened, it was clear that Lowell would feel terribly burdened and guilty.

Speaking of which, Lowell seemed to be on the same boat as her as they both fell for the wrong one.

"I'm quite fine," Celeste said as she smiled lightly. With a faint smile and calm eyes, she didn't seem to be upset at all.

Upon seeing that Celeste's smile was still sweet, beautiful and gentle, Lowell let out a sigh of relief.

"That's good to hear. You should be happy with Gary," Lowell smiled and continued, "Being childhood sweethearts and all, your relationship with him makes a lot of people envious. You guys better stay together until the end. Remember to invite me to your wedding."

Upon hearing this, Celeste smiled lightly, "Alright, Uncle Lowell. I hope you will be able to meet your future partner as well. I hope that the girl who falls for you will be kind and pretty, and is someone who will be able to be with you for the rest of your life."

Lowell was stunned. A moment later, he smiled bitterly, "I hope so too. After all, everyone has a chance at happiness."

Celeste just nodded.

Lowell immediately changed the topic and asked, "Where's Gary? Is he upstairs?"

"Yes, he is upstairs. If you want to see him, you can head right up. It's the first room at the end of the corridor." "Oh!" Lowell nodded, "Aren't you going upstairs?" "Nope. I'm going out to the courtyard for a walk. I'll be back in half an hour," Celeste had deliberately told Lowell the time. Knowing well that he had come to the villa half an hour after they had returned, he must have something important to say to Gary.

She didn't want to be a third-wheel and wasn't interested in their conversation as well.

Deliberately telling Lowell that she wanted to take a walk in the courtyard was a deliberate excuse for Lowell and Gary to be alone and talk.

Lowell paused for a moment before finally nodding, "Okay, but it's a little cold in the courtyard. You'd better not stay out too long."

"Alright, if it gets too cold, I'll just come back to the living room and watch some TV," Celeste grinned and walked out.

Lowell looked at Celeste's back as she left. After some hesitation, he strode upstairs.

He arrived at the first room at the end of the corridor and knocked on the door.

Soon, the door opened.

Lowell was immediately taken aback to see Gary's bloodshot eyes.

"Gary?"

Upon seeing Lowell at the door, Gary was surprised as well. He frowned, "I just came back and voila, you're here."

"Ernest told me to come,." Lowell explained, "I told him to immediately give me a call once you guys return."

"He truly has nothing better to do," Gary snorted coldly as he grumbled in a slightly annoyed tone.
