True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 2038

No matter what it was, it seemed that Gary was in a predicament. If not, he wouldn't be acting so unusually.

Heinz couldn't help but grow solemn. He maintained his composure and asked, "You are the eldest son of the Jones family. Your mother and I hope that you'll be able to become a good role model to your siblings."

Upon hearing this, Gary fell silent. Suddenly, he asked, "Is there something I'm doing wrong for you to suddenly warn me?"

"I'm not warning you. I'm just reminding you," Heinz explained, "Of course, I'm also concerned about you."

"I feel a bit uncomfortable with you suddenly being concerned about me," Gary snorted, "I feel like there's more to what meets the eye."

"I've already told you my request just now, so can't we be more courteous? Even so, I am still your father. Is it so wrong for me to be concerned about you?" Heinz grinned.

"Well, it makes sense if you phrase it that way," Gary nodded, "It's just a bit annoying. Are you going through menopause? Or are you just finding it difficult to keep your mouth closed?"

Heinz was not even angry as he was just bickering with his son.

After looking at how the father and the son were spending their time for a while, Grace decided to head upstairs.

After reaching Gary's room, she knocked on the door. No one responded for a while but the door soon opened.

Celeste was shocked to see Grace at the door. She immediately broke into a laugh, "Why are you here? If you wanted to see me, you could have just called and I'd head right down."

"I wanted to come up and see you," Grace grinned. Holding Celeste's hand, she walked into the room and sat by the edge of the bed, chiming, "You seem thinner just being out for two days. You need to eat well, just look at your sunken cheeks."

"That's not it, I've been eating regularly," Celeste tried to cover up and avoid Grace from worrying, "I'm still that same old weight."

"Your complexion doesn't seem too good as well," Grace eyed Celeste carefully. She reached out and caressed Celeste's hair gently and amicably, asking, "Are you tired?" "Probably. We were cruising at sea for two days and I probably didn't sleep well," Celeste explained.

"Oh, so you guys went cruising?" Grace was shocked, "That's great. It's an improvement for that rascal to bring you out for a cruise."

Celeste was startled. She quickly looked down and muttered, "Gary has always treated me well."

Seeing that Celeste was speaking up for Gary, Grace smiled. It seemed like the both of them were doing quite well.

Maybe she was just thinking too much.

"If you need anything, just let Gary know and make him get it for you. You can also ask him to bring you out," The more Grace stared at Celeste, the more she thought Celeste was a kind and gentle girl.

Though, Celeste seemed much quieter than before. It seemed like people do grow up.

"Aunt Smith, I don't need anything. Just take care of yourself. Don't worry about me," Celeste added, "I can take care of myself."

"You're a good kid, Celeste," Grace said tenderly as she continued looking at Celeste, "Sometimes, Gary is a brat and will have a terrible temper. He'll be quite difficult at times, so you'll probably be a bit exhausted."

Celeste immediately shook her head and denied, "He's not like that, Aunt Smith. He's been nothing but amazing to me."

It was true that Gary was the best towards Celeste.

It was just that the incident had scarred her deeply. No matter what she tried, the wound still remained fresh.

Celeste didn't know what to do.

"Gary is my child so I know very well of his behaviors. I also know that you refuse to complain about his bad behaviour because you're afraid that I'll be worried," Grace still thought that Celeste was keeping something from her.

She just didn't know if the matter was related to Gary.
