True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 2039

Janice burst out laughing after hearing what Celeste said. The laughter was shrill and piercing. "It's rare for you to have nothing to say. Celeste, when will you leave Gary?"

Celeste frowned when she heard Janice's laughter, narrowing her eyes at Janice. "What does that have to do with you?"

"Of course it does," Janice replied. "He promised to be my boyfriend, and you are still hanging around him. How is he going to be at peace with you around?"

"My presence has nothing to do with him being okay about being your boyfriend," Celeste retorted. "If he loves you, he'll be with you. If he doesn't, then it's pointless even if you have him with you."

"Celeste, you are shameless." Janice scolded, "You've seen me together with him, and yet you're still acting like this? You're horrid, Celeste."

"You and I both know that I'm not the shameless one here." Celeste did not yield to Janice. "I won't let you threaten me as you please."

Janice sneered, "I think you are just stubborn. I'm pretty sure you're just falling apart on the inside."

Celeste felt a sharp pain in her chest as Janice hit the nail on the head.

She closed her eyes again and said quietly, "Even if I was hurting, I won't let you do as you please."

"You insane b*tch!" Janice yelled.

Celeste's gleaming eyes were filled with a sense of irony.

Insane?

Perhaps she really was insane.

There was a full-on war going on in her heart, and it wouldn't be wrong for Janice to call her as insane.

Hence, she did refute what Janice said.

She just closed her eyes and tried to suppress the roaring waves of pain that crashed through her. She struggled with the fact that she'd let Gary go because of Janice.

Her reluctance intensified inside her chest, and it would not abate.

Her failure to suppress her emotions would inevitably make her irritable.

Celeste's irritation wasn't going to go away, along with her hate for Janice and reluctance to let go of Gary. Hence, she couldn't be bothered to be nice towards Janice.

"Janice, consider this a warning. Even though I've let go of Gary, it's only because I love him. He'll never love you, Janice." Janice snorted at Celeste's words. "You're ridiculous for telling me these things. You're just sad, afraid and hurt. I felt the same way when you and Gary first got together.

I could only keep my feelings at bay by telling myself that he has a girlfriend and not to love him anymore. However, the more I kept it in, the more I loved him. I wanted him desperately, and there was no way I could hold it in."

It was indeed impossible to refute what Janice said.

Wasn't Celeste the same?

This kind of repressed emotion was really hard to kill.

Celeste slowly clenched her fist so tightly that her nails etched half-moon shapes into her palms. The pain pierced through her angry haze, and she finally came to her senses.

The pain from her nails woke her up.

Celeste closed her eyes and reminded herself again that it was meaningless to talk to Janice.

Celeste breathed in deep and took a minute to calm down.

"You'll never stop feeling this way, Janice." Celeste then immediately hung up the phone without giving Janice a chance to respond.
