Shocked, Janice stared blankly at Heinz.
This powerful man resembled Gary a lot, but he was far wiser as experience had matured him. Hence, Gary would surely resemble his father in a few decades.
Janice was astonished by Heinz's attitude, and she frowned. "I must be a very unscrupulous girl to you."
"I said that earlier, don't you remember? I thought that you should have a better memory. If not, I can remind you once more. The Jones family does not welcome you. If Gary chose you as his girlfriend, then he is going against the will of the entire family."
"Uncle Jones, you can't do this." Janice felt her last hope slip away. She hadn't expected Heinz to be so ruthless.
Heinz looked at her coldly. "You'd better not kneel. I'm afraid that my mind won't change even if your knees bleed."
Janice was shocked by his words, and she sat back down on the sofa.
"Uncle Jones, what do I lack?"
"You should ask yourself that question." Heinz leveled a piercing stare at Janice, his eyes filled with fury.
"I really don't know what makes Celeste better than me." Janice was still reluctant to accept reality as she felt that she was the best person for Gary. However, she was at a loss after Heinz rejected her. "You can't just listen to Celeste. I know she's been badmouthing me."
Heinz suddenly smiled.
He did not say anything and continued to stare at Janice.
Janice assumed that her guess was correct, so she continued, "I admit I'm quite headstrong, and I'm not as gentle as Celeste. I understand that you like girls like her."
To Heinz, Janice wasn't only unscrupulous, she also had a bad moral character.
He looked at Janice as if she were a comedian and remained silent.
On the other hand, Janice thought that her words had moved Heinz, so she mustered up the courage to continue.
"Actually, Gary and I were already together when we were in the United States."
"Miss Simpson." Heinz couldn't help but stop her.
Janice looked up at Heinz and asked, "Uncle Jones?"
"Not only do you have a bad memory, but you're delusional too, aren't you?" Heinz sneered, "Celeste is indeed not as good as you."
Janice was not angered by Heinz's sarcasm and replied, "I'm indeed more suitable for Gary than Celeste. Celeste is too weak. Regarding this, she's indeed inferior to me."
"Of course." Heinz chuckled. "How could Celeste be as shameless as you are?"
"You must be kidding me, Uncle Jones." Janice laughed self- deprecatingly. "Everyone becomes emboldened by love. If that makes me shameless, then so be it. I'm a woman who is willing to sacrifice for love, and I don't think I'm in the wrong."
Janice was extremely delusional.
