True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 2186

"You haven't fallen for Chigo, have you?" Sylvia looked at Claudia in stupefaction.

She thought it was strange Claudia would praise Chigo rather than her cousin.

How could she think so highly of Chigo after only meeting him once?

"Fallen for Chigo?" Reeled by Sylvia's bafflement, she burst into laughter. "What's going on in that little mind of yours? Do you think I'm so casual as to fall for someone right after meeting him?"

"Then why are you putting in a good word for him?" Sylvia thought that it was strange.

"I am just stating the truth. Should I speak against my conscience?" Claudia retorted.

"No, even though Chigo is great, I still think Mr. Trevino is better," Sylvia smiled and said, "My heart is still with Mr. Trevino."

"It seems like you've already decided my cousin is the one for you." Claudia heaved a sigh of relief. "Well then, I don't have to worry anymore."

"What about you?" Sylvia asked. "It seems like you have a problem with Sebastian."

"Should I not have any problems with him?" Claudia added, "I bet he's the one who called Chigo over."

"Yes, my money's on that as well."

"What the heck is on his mind? Wasn't he very supportive of you and Kendrix?"

"I don't know." Sylvia also found it strange, and his weird behavior had begun since Claudia stayed over at their home.

As an epiphany struck, she looked over at Claudia with wide eyes.

Claudia also seemed to have figured it out, whispering, "Could it be because of me?"

"Highly likely."

"Looks like he loathes me, huh?" Claudia sighed.

"I wouldn't say loathe." Seeing that she was down in the dumps, Sylvia immediately comforted her. "I'm sure he doesn't hate you."

"You don't have to comfort me. I'm not blind; I can tell." Claudia didn't find excuses, saying with a smile, "I know what he's trying to tell me. He really does hate me."

"Claudia." Sylvia wanted to say more, but Claudia stopped her.

"It's alright; you don't have to say anything." Claudia wasn't too discouraged as it was already

within her expectations, so she didn't hold onto high hopes.

Sebastian had always been firm with his stance.

However, what caught her off guard was that he didn't refuse Ernest's arrangement at the airport. Why did he agree to go shopping with them?

Did he want her to know about Chigo's existence so that she would feel anxious for Kendrix?

"I had no idea he's like this," Claudia snorted. "He's coming straight at me, no, at Kendrix."

"Probably you two, but mostly you." Sylvia said, "You freaked him out with your confession and led him to hold a grudge against you."

Twitching her lips, Claudia took a deep breath. "See what I'm trying to say? He's taking it personally."

As she spoke, she looked over her shoulder. Sebastian and Chigo walked side by side leisurely.

Seeing that she was looking at them, the two looked over at her.

With a smile, Claudia looked back at Sylvia and whispered, "Chigo is obviously here for you."

"So what?" Sylvia said, "My heart is set."

"But Kendrix is too bovine. No, you know what, I should give him a push." With that, Claudia pulled out her phone to text Kendrix.

"Hey, you're not going to text him, are you?"

"Bingo. He should know of his potential threats."

Hearing that, Sylvia immediately stopped her. "Nah, save your text."

"Why?" Claudia was puzzled. "Don't you want to see his reaction when he sees another man courting you?"

"That is very childish," Sylvia said, "I don't want to know."

"But I do," Claudia said, "Kendrix is really into you, more than he lets it show."

Sylvia nodded.

She had long known that.

He had already let her know that New Year's night, a kiss added to the bargain. Remembering that kiss, Sylvia couldn't help flushing.

Noticing Sylvia's expression was unnatural, Claudia scrutinized her, blinking as an epiphany struck her, whispering, "Do I smell gossip?"

Stupefied, Sylvia immediately retorted, "No, there's nothing you don't already know."

"It's just that you're acting a little weird." Claudia said, "If you don't want me to text Kendrix, it's either something I'm unaware of has happened, or you have a thing for that guy, and you don't want my cousin to know."

Sylvia rolled her eyes and said, "You sure have a wild imagination."

"I'd say slightly above average." Claudia shook her phone. "Either you tell me the whole story, or I will send the message to him."

"Go ahead," Sylvia said, "Do what you like."
