True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 2266

"Pfft!" Claudia could not help but to burst into laughter.

"What are you laughing at?" The lady scowled at Claudia in confusion before she looked at Sebastian, who had been composed, and frowned. "I think the both of you are scammers. You are in cahoots with each other, aren't you?"

"Did you not figure it out until now?" Claudia added naturally, "Of course we're on the same side. Didn't you see that he and I know each other?"

"Needless to say, I'm aware that you two are on the same side." Claudia's words seemed to have raised the lady's hackles, causing her to be on the verge of exploding with fury and embarrassment. "Are you two little guys lying to me?"

"You've already considered us as scammers. Even if we deny it, I'm afraid you won't believe it," Claudia said, "Since that's the case, there's nothing to explain."

"Hmph, don't be so pretentious." The lady shot daggers at Claudia. "I'm asking you a question. You' better behave yourself." "Naha." Claudia began chortling. "Miss, didn't you say that we're scammers just now? You want to call the police, don't you? Why don't you make the call now? Hurry up and call the police. We might as well let the police verify if we're scammers."

Anyway, Claudia's top priority then was to get the police and stall for some time.

With that, she lifted her chin slightly and gazed at the direction of Sebastian's.

He was also focusing his dark eyes on her while wearing a faint smile.

Claudia's heart skipped a beat. For some reason, she experienced a pang of guilt.

After that, Claudia realized that her emotional intelligence was rather abysmal. She reminded herself, "I mustn't be fearful."

Obviously, Sebastian was a scammer, and he was deceiving the lady then.

It could be said that the evidence was conclusive.

Therefore, there was nothing to feel guilty about. Besides, she did not lie.

She had long known Sebastian, hence saying that they were on the same side was not a lie.

Anyhow, they knew each other.

Since they were involved in the mess, they might as well be the "scammers" together.

Sebastian had expected Claudia to speak so long ago.

He was sure that Claudia had made up her mind to stop him from disturbing Kendrix and Sylvia.

He knew what was going on in her mind.

He could not help finding it humorous. Sylvia had indeed befriended a decent bestie.

To be able to help Sylvia like that, Claudia had proven herself to be a loyal friend.

It seemed that it would be a little difficult for him to investigate what was happening over Sylvia's side that day.

Claudia had put in so much effort, which made him feel a little reluctant to continue to expose her.

"I've to call the police." Hearing that, the lady held her phone immediately and called the police. "Hello, is it the police station? I want to report a case. There are two scammers here. Come and check on them as soon as possible. The address is..."

She really called the police.

What was surprising was that Sebastian did not blow a gasket. Consequently, Claudia gaped at him in puzzlement.

He actually did not flip out, but just let the lady call the police.

Claudia wondered whether he also agreed to the idea of calling the police.

Sebastian's reaction once again refreshed her impression of him. She felt that he should not have responded in such way.

But then, the lady had already called the police. According to the conversation through the phone, the police was going to arrive soon.

It meant that her goal had been achieved.

As her goal had been achieved, there was no need to be anxious.

It would take about an hour from calling the police to sorting out the issue.

She should have created enough space and time for Kendrix and Sylvia with that one hour's time.

For the sake of those two lovebirds, she had done everything she could.

She was even treated as a scammer to protect them. If the news was circulated, she would end up with egg on her face.

Claudia felt extremely indignant and proud at the same time.

In any case, Sebastian did not win.

She landed her eyes on him again.

Concurrently, the boy was still staring at her.
